If anybody wants to tap into the American market, English is essential.. If you are going to be on camera in front of American audience, it's not unreasonable to expect some English out of them.
I think if a fighter refuses to learn, then have a proper translator in place at least. It gets annoying when some fob ass fighter from Europe or somewhere tries to speak English and nobody can understand what they are saying. They need to practice off camera and start using the language once they are good enough to be used in front of national television.
GGG always rubbed me the wrong way with his broken ass ****** English. Ohhh good boy ya, Mexican style good boy yes.Comment

Roberto Duran didn't/doesn't speak English, and he's been living in the USA longer than Panama.Translators need a job y'know, if fighters are able to communicate with their audience that's great since it can increase their stock in the USA/UK by being able to promote themselves.
but I doubt fans of this sport are going to be discouraged from watching and rooting for these professional boxers. Could probably list a few fighters who don't or even speak English that often.
-Subriel Matias
-Vasily Lomachenko
-Inoue Naoya
-Erislandy Lara
-Mauricio Lara
-Oleksadr Usyk
-Artur Beterviev
I mean I am probably wrong with some fighters and there might better examples but point is it won't negatively affect them if they can't speak English.Comment
