If a southpaw nullifies the shoulder-roll...then Pacman should be able to beat Mayweather...no? What happen to Zab, Mitchell, Corely...

Listen, I know southpaws can give Mayweather a bit more trouble than an orthodox fighter but the guy knows how to adjust and his defense is by far the top one out there...I just don't see P-Will 'exposing' Mayweather....beating on him cards, yes.
Did you just say what happened to Zab, who lost to Baldomir, Sharmba who was washed up YEARS before he fought Floyd, and Corley who couldn't finish a man out on his feet? I mean dude, if Manny were to daze Floyd, do you believe he wouldnt finish him? Zab was landing easily on Floyd the first 4-5 rounds. Floyd adjusted and we ALL know Zab isn't a distance fighter. Sharmba could have fought Floyd bare fisted and his punches wouldnt have hurt. And Corley......BUM.....who still had Floyd out on his feet.

And Williams is an inside fighter?

That's a matter of opinion. The rule accepted by almost everyone is that under truly exceptional circumstances, a new lineal champion can be crowned on a discretionary basis if the #1 and #3 face off, on the proviso that there are good reasons why a fight cannot be made between the #1 and #2 contenders.

In the opinion of the vast majority of boxing experts, including The Ring, those criteria were met when Wlad beat Chagaev, but were not met when Mosley beat Margarito. Mosley was considered to have unfinished business with Cotto, and Margarito was considered to have unfinished business with Williams, and because of that, in the opinion of pretty well everyone, it was not considered that the "truly exceptional exceptional circumstances" criteria were met in the case of the Mosley-Margarito fight. Whereas because Wlad cannot be reasonably expected to fight his own brother for money, almost everyone considered that the "truly exceptional exceptional circumstances" criteria were met when Wlad fought Chagaev.

Hence Wlad is The Ring champion, and in most expert's opinions, he's also the lineal champion, although a minority of people consider that the lineal heavyweight title is still vacant. But you can't really make a case that Cotto-Mosley and/or Margarito/Williams were impossible to make, so there's no case for saying that Mosley is the lineal Welterweight champion, although he is definitely the #1 contender.

No, the title was vacated by Mayweather when he "retired" and the #1 and #2 contenders haven't fought since then. If Mosley and Mayweather face off, there will be a new lineal champion. Until then, the title is vacant.

You need to learn about boxing history. That's never been how it has been worked out.

Granted those weren't big-name southpaws, they should have still been able to cause more damage then what they did since shoulder roll is nullified. We can't just write-off Floyd's D because he may have took a few shots here and there from south paws. Its rare to hit Floyd, we all know that but the guy is a ring general who adjusts every single fight, not matter if your southpaw, othodox, brawler, boxer, dirty, clean, inside or outside fighter. Pacman is a big-name southpaw with power who has become a legitimate WW no? Mayweather will pick Pacman apart who has the same reach as Cotto and is about half an inch shorter but he is a southpaw. I'd like to see this fight happen now just because Manny is a southpaw.

As for Williams, for a man as big as he is, he tends to crouch down a lot. He should be doing to fighters what Klitchko did to Areola. Which is fighting long-distance.

he needs the money so that ain't happening
he's also rejuvenated and it appears that he wants to fight
I'm pretty sure floyd will fight either SSM, Cotto, or Pac in 2010

correction SSM is NOT the lineal champ at WW
he's pretty close tho... the winner of a cotto ssm rematch would decide that

Not any more - it's Mosley vs. Mayweather that would decide that now - see here.
