Mayweather was willing to fight Baldomir because he was the champ, but he doesn't want to fight Mosley. Now even though the linear championship at 147 is vacant, Mosley is still #1. This is the most blatant case of ducking I have ever seen. I mean nothing tops it. At least Margarito wasn't ranked as high as Floyd at the time that Floyd turned down a fight with him except for when he fought Sharmba Mitchell for less money while he was getting his feet wet in the division.

So in essense Floyd vs. pacquiao will be for the WW title.

How ironic would it be for the lineal WW championship to be determine by

and for Pacquiao who the Welterweight division would be his 7th...

So Mayweather would be fighting a welterweight champion if Pacquiao beats Cotto.
and most likely it would be for the number #1 spot in the division.

Let's be real about 99 though. Mosley's last fight there against John Brown he camwe into the fight at 153 lbs. He looked very dry in that fight. Arum wanted to make it at 137, because he thought Mosley was moving up to 140. But he moved to 147 and looked good and stronger at that weight.

Anyway I believe this fight will happen. I remember Hoya saying that why should he fight Floyd after the Baldo fight. He said it didn't sellout and Floyd didn't put on a great performance. A few weeks later the fight was signed.

Floyd is probably getting asked this question everyday. When will a Shane fight happen.

They can make it asap or next fall. Floyd would have beaten the Pac or Cotto. Mosley will probably have all 3 belts. They can make the fight worth more. Personally I would love to see it asap. But making it bigger and worth more is always good also

Pacquiao isn't going to fight Mayweather. End of story. Pacquiao doesn't feel like giving him the payday just like the hardcore Mayweather nuthuggers don't want Floyd to give Mosley a payday, and they make that a priority over seeing a great fight. Hell, there was two stories on here recently with Freddie Roach saying that Mayweather needs Pacquiao more than Pacquiao needs him. And Arum just stated recently that the negotiation process will be a big headache for all parties involved. Mosley and Mayweather equally need each other. I think that Mayweather will find himself in the same situation that Mosley was in this year when it comes to fighting big names. He'll become a ducked fighter himself. Those guys view him as a dangerous fight and they will tell him to go piss up a rope because they can make serious loot regardless of who they fight because of their incredible marketability. Mayweather has his financial hardships just like Mosley does.

Floyd said himself yes he wanted the ko but Marquez was to strong & what boxer doesn't go for the ko when he has the chance.

Floyd almost never goes all out for the KO unless his opponent is completely done - he almost never takes risks. But in addition, he may have respected Marquez too much to go all out for the KO. Not saying he was carrying him exactly, but subconsciously he may have felt that a man who had shown that much heart deserved to finish the fight on his feet.

As for what he said about Marquez being strong, it was obviously in his interests to try to big up his opponent, especially as everyone was criticising him for taking the fight and calling it a mismatch, so I wouldn't take what he said too literally.

That's why most neutral boxing fans can't stand the man - and can't stand the idiots who defend his attitude. Great fighters want to fight the best possible opposition in order to test themselves. Mosley is the top ranked fighter in Floyd's weight class, and his ridiculous excuses for not wanting to fight the best make him look pathetic.

Floyd has great talent but he does not have the attitude of a great fighter. His attitude stinks.
