he's supposed to fight the next best, bigger, tougher fighter, he's not supposed to keep making non threatening fights? that is ripping us off. talk about disrespectful to the fans!?!?! maybe you like watching a wipe out and one sided events, but i like watching a competition, a struggle, a real fight, not some media hype, watered down and glossed over to make things look legit bull**** fight, i'm not ******, and nor are the real fight fans, fans who don't take allegiance in just a fighter but takes allegiance in the SPORT and what is RIGHT for the SPORT................
and for mosley trying to get the pac fight and pac turning him down, is a obvious sign of the threat that mosley possesses. honestly, when mosley said that he would be down below 147 to make the fight, isnt that a sign he will do whatever and fight whoever, does it seem like he's cherry picking, i know it looks like floyd is. now, there are a lot of fights out there that can be made, but the thing is, not a lot are being talked about, only a small select sum of fighters are being discussed, and that is fine, so i'm not putting it all on one fighter out there, but to pick the sides of fighters and not the sport of boxing, i think many of you are missing the point about boxing, may the best man win, but the problems are, not all of the best men are stepping into the ring with one another............

Although I'd be pulling for SSM, I think he's slowed down just enough that Floyd disects him over 12 tough rounds. Speaking of Money May, he still "owns" some HBO commentators...like Lampley. Jim really dropped the ball in that short interview last night when after asking Floyd about catch-weights and his 144 contract w/ Marquez, Floyd said that any fight above 140 was a WW fight. Shouldn't the OBVIOUS FOLLOW-UP have been: "Then what was the point of drawing up a contract for 144 in the first place"? Sounds like the HBO crew got taken to the woodshed after ambushing and disrespecting Floyd last weekend.

i think that JMM calling out floyd was a set up, i think it was staged, i think that the fight was already negotiated by floyd and jmm before jmm called floyd out. reason being is this, and see if this make any sense.
jmm is a lightweight at the time he called out floyd, his first fight at that weight. he moved up from 126 and 130, to fight at 135 and win, all to call out floyd mayweather.
i find his calling out floyd pretty peculiar, especially how he did it, jmm called out floyd like floyd wasnt retired, like floyd was an active fighter at the time, he offered no other name other than floyd........ ok, seems harmless enough, but at that time, other fighters have given up on calling out floyd because he was in retirement and they have called him out for a year and some change, and nothing from floyd, so they have stopped calling him out directly. some fighters would say they would like to fight this guy and that guy, but if floyd was around they would want to fight him, and again, nothing.
but when marquez calls out mayweather, and mayweather excepts the challenge, it didn't fit. AND, it pretty much was set up like ABC, nothing out of the normal for high profile fight contracts.
but this is why i think that it was set up and already negotiated before the jmm call out, because of all the guys that have called mayweather out and said provocative things about him, he does nothing, he says nothing, and dismisses it like nothing, staying retired, but now all the sudden form a smaller man, a man who is really no threat to mayweather, call him out, but not only calls him out, but calls him out as if he was still active at the time, issuing a live challenge to floyd and only floyd. of all the guys calling out floyd, jmm is the guy that gets him motivated to come back to boxing? jmm gets to go to disneyland, so to speak, with mayweather and get the big payday.
it doesn't add up, unless it was set up, it was staged, because i've heard a lot of fighters who are more of a threat to mayweather than jmm who called him out and nothing came of it..........
watching the body language and how things unfolded for this fight, i've said from jump street that floyds coming back to fight jmm was a set up for a big payday, which he needed because of his IRS worries, which wouldn't wipe him out, but if you have one fight, basically an easy fight for floyd, and that fight erases your debt, bet your sweet ass he's going to come back to boxing and get that taken care of.
just watch from the jmm vs diaz fight on how it all unfolded and you tell me that it wasn't already agreed upon prior to jmm calling out floyd. i'm sure the terms were, " if you beat diaz, you got the green light to call out and fight floyd". there is no such thing as coincidence in these type of matters......Last edited by deuce_drop; 09-27-2009, 02:55 PM.

Mosley is twice the fighter Mayweather will ever be. Mosley has fought ever great fighter his size in this era. Prime De la Hoya, Forest, Winky, Vargas, Cotto, Collazo. Not to mention that his victory over Margarito was more impressive than any victory Floyd has ever had. Now, Shane will have to fight a young stud like Berto or a tough as nails Clottey. When he beats them, I hope he gets Mayweather in the ring because he will walk him down and stop him in brutal fashion. Mayweather can't hurt Mosely and once Shane tastes Floyd's lack of punching power it's over. Mayweather sells fights with his mouth and guys like Pac, Mosley, and Cotto sell them with their fists. I don't want to hear that I don't appreciate Floyd because I don't understand the sweet science. This is boxing and the end of the day it's two shirtless men punchin each other. Give me a warrior like Sugar Shane over runners like Floyd any day of the week. BTW Pac over Cotto in UD.

cloooose, but not exactly.........
In the interests of accuracy, towards which, I have a-sometimes inconvenient -penchant for, Mosley did NOT say he had a toothache. He had recently had his very big fight, with an intensive training regimen, and actually said that one of his front (two) teeth was loose and he needed to get it fixed, he put up his fingers to his mouth, and "waggled" it.
He also said that he'd promised some time to his family.
