Comments Thread For: Anthony Joshua: I Will Retire If I Lose To Jermaine Franklin

——-I don’t want Joshua to retire before he fights Wilder & Fury. I expect him to smash Franklin within a round or 2. If he somehow were to lose then I don’t see him sticking around. Why bother? It would be pretty obvious his desire to compete is gone. I can’t see this fight being competitive. I want Joshua to smash Franklin. Joshua by brutal KO.
If Joshua loses, it will not be because of “his desire to compete is gone”. It will be because AJ is not good. Perhaps was never as good as most thought. Especially after his debacle against Ruiz.
The desire is always there but that doesn’t mean the skills match the desire

You should have retired after 2 loses to Usyk. AJ is damaged goods. He needed a psychologist not a new trainer. His last corner was an absolute joke. Amateurs have better cornermen. Hearn has been picking AJ pockets for years. Canelo is another Hearn victim. Hearn is nothing more than a pompous cheerleader who rips off his fighters while sucking what’s between their legs.Comment

So that’s how he does it….that would be terribly distracting…You should have retired after 2 loses to Usyk. AJ is damaged goods. He needed a psychologist not a new trainer. No he had a decent run before Ruiz. He was never the same after that fight. He laid a beating on Povetkin when he was still a top 5-10 in the world. Usyk is an elite fighter. Still want to see him in with Wilder &Fury. I think he will smash Franklin.——-

I think AJ will win too. But if he loses, it’s not his desire that’s kaput. It just means he is done fighting at the elite level.

Franklin is better than Chisora? In what world, eh?
It is cliche but? Styles can make fights 'Wilder & Joyce, would most likely fight in a manner which would result in them blasting out Franklin'.
But their fights would also be a mess technically, where they are also being hit with punches 'And making unforced errors'.
Franklin currently right now, is a better in form fighter than Chisora 'That is just a fact'.
I don't think Joshua needs to blast out Franklin inside 2-3 rounds 'Sometimes those type of performances, don't really show a fighters true universal form'.
I honestly think if Joshua systematically beats down Franklin, and stops him inside 7-9 rounds 'That is a great performance, and it is also a statement'.
Sure Joshua has stopped some very good fighters in lesser rounds 'But on route to those wins, his opponents were competitive at times'.
I personally would be looking for Joshua to execute a well rounded COMPLETE performance vs Franklin 'Systematic beat down, high level of skill in his boxing and winning all the rounds in dominant fashion'.
Nobody no experts or boxing pundits have demanded that Joshua must stop Frankin inside 2-3 rounds 'And this has not happened because, these people know boxing mate. And they understand that Franklin even while training part-time for Whyte, was able to be competitive and really push Dillian Whyte.
I have no idea why you are mocking Franklin for training part-time in the past, and having to support himself elsewhere. Boxing is a blue collar working class sport, so you better check yourself 'Everyone knows how the game works, so these are redundant points that you are making'.
The Jermaine Franklin that will be fighting Joshua, by his own admittance now? Is training like never before, because he has the ability and support to do so 'Franklin's game is going to be increased in levels'.
It is a solid fight for Joshua, but I do agree with you 'That Franklin has been picked, so Joshua can beat him down'. What we disagree on is what would be considered a good performance from Joshua.
Franklin is a solid enough fighter, his performance vs Whyte has proven this 'But any fighter that is aiming to be a elite level fighter, in my opinion should not drop any rounds vs Franklin and they should push for a stoppage win etc'.
Joshua could stop others earlier because they were competitive? So if they are good, AJ will stop them early but if they are not good, AJ will require 7-9 rounds?
What are you talking about?
No, I am not mocking Jermaine Franklin for being poor. Why would I mock him? I am just stating his background and his lack of opportunity to train properly. I am happy for him to have found these two fights that would change his life. Franklin vs Whyte was more of Whyte's poor performance or motivation. A similar uninspiring Whyte showed up for Marius Wach's fight too.Comment

Chisora has been semi-retired for sometime, and his last win was vs a semi retired Pulev.
'You can have your view point, and I will have mine'.
I have stated all, that I needed to state on this topic for now.
