Haters are on another level of hate with this one.
Usyk took 80/20 vs Joshua, but 70/30 vs Tyson is a bluff?

You don’t understand context and circumstances at all so you?
Usyk took the short end in the first Joshua fight when Usyk was a challenger and had no belts. He beat Joshua twice in two PPVs that sold very well in the UK. Add to that he’s had UK PPVs against Bellew and Chisora. Thus when he was heading out into Fury negotiations he now had 3 belts, and 4 UK PPVs under his belt. He wasn’t an unknown challenger with no marketability. -
Standard WBA split for a mandatory challenger. Klitschko vs Fury was 80/20 split too because Fury was WBA mandatory challenger even though he tested positive for the steroid nandrolone earlier that same year so he should have been serving a 2 year ban when the Klitschko fight happened.Comment

The Usyk that fought AJ had no belts, little marketability for his ability and was also a mandatory.
He's now a 3 belt champion and Ring belt holder and beat the biggest name in the division - twice.
Fury just didn't want the fight right now.
I mean, he was also injured when he said his 70/30 offer, he had zero intention to fight.
Good news is Usyk is a even bigger name, as he's the guy Fury is ducking, so well done Tyson.Last edited by M312; 03-28-2023, 11:47 AM.Comment

the wbo have a champ challenger split of 25% and the wbo mandated the usky joshua fight
"In fights between the Champion and the first available
contender held in the country of origin, residence or nationality of the
Champion, or a neutral venue, the latter (Champion) shall receive
75% of the total purse, and the Challenger shall receive the remaining 25%"

Do remember that Chisora was the A-side when Usyk negotiated with Chisora where Chisora was to get 6.9m vs Usyk's 2.2m (later changed to 4m vs 1.5m as guaranteed). Those claiming Usyk has 4 PPV events in the UK need to remember that in all 4 of those events, it was a Brit that was selling the PPV (Joshua, Chisora, Bellew). In Usyk vs Bellew, they both made around £4m because Bellew brought in all the £££ and it wasn't even a rematch clause that Usyk "had" to fight. On his own, Usyk made £1.2m against Chazz Witherspoon.
So let's be honest, a 30% against Fury would probably be greater than his lion's share against his alternate fights with Dubois and Hrogovic combined... maybe even twice as much. And if he wins and gets a 50% in the rematch, it would be more than his entire career earning (except AJ's rematch).Comment
