So he used the 22' ring to keep away from benavidez? Smart of him, I'm pretty sure the ring was smaller when he fought canelo. Nobody mentions that, the real state was humongous. Normally canelo will fight in an 18' ring, he did gave saunders a 20' ring, saunders wanted a 22'. So there you have it, those extra 2 feet for every side can make a difference.

The past two pages of debate are precisely why I said the Smiths would make interesting matchups at 175. I do hope we get to see him take on some combination of Canelo, Morrell Jr, Charlo, and Andrade, although I think the latter two should fight. Why hasn't Charlo been stripped of his 160 lb belt anyways?
