White would design boxing like an anteater would design an ant farm.

It's hard to make it in boxing. Seems like the promoters that already have a stronghold don't give an inch. Jay Z is a billionaire and seen that losing venture and got out. If anything White will end up having current or Former UFC fighters box. I guess it may intrigue some former Champ boxers.
Business wise for Dana I can see this as a way to keep his fighters from going to other MMA orgs or Bare Knuckle.Comment

Hmmm, I'm a boxing fan since the 80s, I don't get the negative comments? Why? Because in the ufc the best fight the best? Because they consistently beat boxing for ppvs? Because someone might put money into boxing?
Dana has already looked into boxing & ran a mile in its current state.
For me I'd like Dana, Eddie, Al & Bob to say F the belts, create i dunno the UBC with they're fighter's under 1 umbrella 1 belt 1 name 1 face 1 title & less poxy divisions at the lower weights where you can eat a Sunday roast & go up 2 weight divisions.
The UFC creates more middle class rich fighter's than boxing, that's a fact, it's just the top end where fighter's don't earn Saudi blood money that boxer's earn today.
I'm sick of alphabelts I'm the A-side duck boxing. If your not your not a fan of the sport.Comment

It isn't ripe because boxers aren't forced into terrible contracts like the UFC. Most boxers go in for a quick payday and come back out with zero obligations. They are free to fight or not fight and they will be paid their share that they agreed to if they do enter the ring.
So yes you should go learn what exploitation is.Last edited by bullydean; 03-22-2023, 05:09 PM.Comment

When the heavyweight champion of the UFC is making less money than Gallo Estrada and Chocolatito then you know somethings not right. There's a reason he left just like Darren Till did recently and Paulo Costa looks like he's on his way out as well.

Really? Name me one boxer that has multiple losses that isn’t Chisora that is a millionaire or wealthy? If you aren’t a headliner boxer you’re paid s h I t! The only guys going after the big fights in boxing are already many times over millionaires. Exploitation….Bwhahahahha! Boxers are some of the most exploited individuals in all of professional sports.
Fxcking Robert Guerrero made so much money, he named his son after Al Haymon because that's who made him rich
Andy Ruiz is a millionaire and morbidly obese.
Hell, a lot of PBC guys are wealthy because of Haymon.Comment

Dude, Pacquiao had 7 losses and was worth 200 million dollars.

Ruiz hit a one fight jackpot and that’s an anomaly. Had it not been for Big Baby he’d still be an unknown fighting for scraps and end his career with nothing. You’re citing a person whose equivalent would be like a person hitting the lottery. PAC Man is an ATG. We are speaking purely your run of the mill fighters. Your run of the mill, multiple loss fighters are dirt poor. Unless you are big time you aren’t making squat.Comment

Lol Guerrero? Loved him but he didn’t make squat in his multiple loss 20 year pro boxer at 5 million net worth? Take otoh Randy Couture. In one year in the UFC alone 2.7 million and he was an 11 loss fighter winning and losing multiple championships over a 24 year career.

Any fighter who fought Mayweather or Pacquaio or Anthony Joshua or Canelo in the past decade or so is a millionaire or close to it. That's a considerable amount.
PBC fighters fight once or twice a year because they're paid so well.
And Randy Couture is a name brand fighter in UFC. I don't even watch UFC or MMA at all and I know who he is. He should be rich.
There's a reason MMA fighters are trying to come into boxing and when both worlds mix, they do boxing.
Because boxers actually make money.Comment

No, actually you should “go learn” what exploitation is. The most simplistic form of Google searches of boxing and exploitation will result in dozens of articles (both opinion and scholarly). Most boxers live in poverty and are “exploited.” UFC fighters fight under contract and those with the UFC fight under “guaranteed” monies. A great deal of UFC fighters with many losses are multimillionaires. In boxing you either win or live poor. Trust me, I’m very comfortable with the term du jour “exploitation” in its many forms.Comment
