belts we’re never meant to be a measure of popularity

but in the cases of Haney-Loma and Davis-Garcia, the belts are definitely with the higher level match up. It’s a breakout fight for both Davis and Garcia who have yet to add a solid name to their resume

Tank arguably has a better resume than Haney. It’s pretty close at the very least.

Haney has Kambosos x2, JoJo Diaz and and a faded Linares.

Tank has Pedraza, Isaac Cruz, Barrios, Santa Cruz and Hector Luis Garcia.

I wouldn’t say there’s much between those resumes.

Belts mattered more when there was just one per weight class. It really depends on the fighter. If a boxer doesn't care about legacy and only cares about money, then I guess belts don't matter. Tank clearly doesn't care about legacy or he'd be challenging Haney for his belts. A decade from now no one will be talking about Tank, maybe even less than that.
