This bs narrative continues to blow my mind. You have to have an incredibly twisted view of boxing to consider the #1 light heavyweight, and undefeated champion, and stylistic counter to Canelo, a “cherry pick.”

So Canelo is ducking who exactly? For the better part of a decade, other than a single #1 contender, he has only fought literal champions. Are we supposed to feel sorry for Benavidez that he couldn’t hold onto his belt? And now Canelo is set to fight another #1 contender in Ryder who is ranked 3rd in the division by The Ring and 2nd by BoxRec, but he’s a just a bum?

It’s hilarious that a year ago, this was the hater narrative:
“It’s not as if Canelo was ever going to defend his WBA title against Ryder. If the WBA ordered Canelo to defend against Ryder, he likely would vacate it.”
(Source: Ryder Mandatory To WBA Champion David Morrell, Not Canelo - Boxing News 24/7)

How quickly Ryder went from someone Canelo was guaranteed to duck, to someone not worth fighting at all.

All while claiming Canelo is ducking the likes of Charlo and Andrade, two guys who didn’t even bother fighting in 2022. So while Canelo fights “nobodies,” they literally fight nobody at all. Come on…

You are right about one thing though. Styles make fights, and historically, the only guys that have given Canelo problems in the ring have been guys with great technical skills and/or great footwork. Benavidez has neither. In fact, Canelo’s pressure, toughness, timing, and counterpunching is all wrong for Benavidez. I do hope he makes it past Plant. Just so he can step in the ring with Canelo and not see the championship rounds lol.

Yes, it reminds me of some of my old prose.

I would say charlo would be canelos easiest fight Andrade a lot harder to beat than David or charlo
bivol was just to big and skilled
          David is to reckless

I didn't post about his literal opinion did I you spaz... At the end of the day Canelo needs to come to terms with losing the last 4 rounds to a near 41 year old man stepping up in weight for the very first time.

These two will fight one day and Canelo will eat him up, but by then you'll be clamoring on about how Canelo's been ducking Usyk for years.
You’re under the misconception that moving up automatically increases risk. That’s not necessarily true. For example, right now if bivol bypassed a unification with beterbiev and went to badou Jack at cruiserweight, is that taking a bigger risk? Canelo has made similar moves in his career.

Are you arguing that Canelo should have ignored world titles and legacy-building opportunities to fight a no-name, no-title guy like Red Flag Benavidez over becoming the first-ever undisputed SMW champion in history? Had Red Flag Benavidez kept his WBC title Canelo would have taken it from him 2 years ago.

I’m arguing that canelo left a more prestigious division in mw where he only needed one title to become undisputed there and he bypassed it to go to a division that was definitely known as one of the weaker ones in boxing. As far as Benavidez, let’s not act like Benavidez also wasn’t a champion at any point. Canelo never tried to face him belt or no belt. Don’t get all high and mighty about why Benavidez got stripped because last I checked, Canelo has also been guilty of missing a contracted weight and failing a vada test.

Your just as bad as the Canelo nut huggers It amazes me how many people think Canelo is still pertinent in todays boxing scene. Hes OLD. Benividas whipping him means sheeit TODAY. Canelo should retire
