Not afraid as in he is terrified. Afraid as in, this guy will likely kick my ass, and there is no reward compared to the risk.

Apparently the mandatories should be forcing Canelo to fight the best, but we all know at this point, belts mean very little, and the sanctioning bodies are all corrupt.

Maybe they should implement age categories into boxing along with weights. I don't blame a guy approaching middle age for not wanting to fight a 24 year old monster. But these guys want to hang on to their careers and belts. Canelo is worth hundreds of millions. Bivol and the third GGG fight show clearly, he is not elite at this point.

He actually is afraid. He only fought Bivol because in his mind it was another cherry pick and that it would be easier than fighting Charlo and Benavidez. It back fired. He caught OLDvalev at the right time and won a 175lb title. It made no sense for him to fight Bivol. Clenelo isn't good enough to beat a skilled fighter. John Ryder is next
