By the way, on a different thread, someone made a great point. Andrew Golota used to take 80% of the pot. In fact, when he fought Chris Byrd who was the the HW champion, Golota made $4 million while Byrd made $450,000 only.
When Byrd complained to Don King, King asked him a simple question - “Of the 20,000 polish fans here, how many are here to watch you?”
The fight was at Madison Square Garden.

That is not a great example, if you have seen the boxing fans reaction to this fight? You will see that Usyk now has masses of support 'You can already witnessed this within this very forum, their are plenty of hardcore Fury fans who have admiration for Usyk'.

Usyk I don't think will be booed in the UK, is that what you are expecting? Fury overrates his support completely, and he overrates his drawing power currently right now.

The claim that all the boxing fans are just turning up to watch Fury, is not entirely accurate.

Dubois vs Usyk in my opinion would also be a big event 'If Usyk is matched correctly, he can be involved in big majored events that do not involve Tyson Fury'.

Also what is essentially making this fight a big fight 'Is that it is for the Undisputed title' It is definitely not all about Tyson Fury.

Note: Many fighters in the UK can do stadium fights, it just seems to be a current part of UK boxing culture 'And I honestly think the actual fighters and some fans overrated the draw of the fighters because of this'. That is a good example. I still think it's criminal though. They couldn't give Byrd $1million and Golota $3.5 million? After all, it does take two people to have a fight. Golota shouldn't have gotten a 10-1 stake. That's total nonsense.

I agree 100% with you. I read another example which makes sense too. Imagine being cast in a big budget Hollywood movie with Tom Cruise. You auditioned for it and got the 2nd lead role meaning you share top billing with Tom Cruise.
Cruise gets paid $25 million and you get paid $100K. It happens a lot.

What I will disagree with you is regarding Fury’s drawing power - Fury vs Whyte sold 85,000 tickets in three hours. Think about that for a second.

Nobody thought that was a great fight. I am a Fury fan and criticized that meaningless fight. It was meaningless without a doubt. How many of those do you think bought tickets because of Whyte?

It is apart of UK sporting culture. Countries like Australia are similar in this regard.

I follow soccer ⚽️ and premier league is the most exciting league so I get how rabid UK fans are for their sport so you’re probably right about Fury-Usyk being staged in the UK. I don’t think Fury sees it that way hence the stalled but now resolved negotiations.
