A 30/70 split would be fair. Maybe a 35/65 split but to act like you are the draw and ask for a 50/50 split is another of ducking a fight.
He didn't. He got far more than 20/80 in the first AJ match. WBO Rules state mandatory challenger gets 25% and Usyk got more than that because he allowed the rematch clause. Usyk got AT LEAST 30% for the first fight, and 50-60% for the second

You are right about both. The 50/50 split in the 2nd fight happened because it was in Saudi Arabia and also because AJ was coming off a loss from the 1st fight so he didn’t really have much bargaining power AND becoming a world champion again matters more to him than money so he acquiesced.

Fury is NOT in that position. He can just refuse to split the pot 50/50 which is what he’s doing.

There's three championship belts on the line and over $150 million up for grabs in the rematch of Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua.

people need to realise this fight not happening is nothing about percentage splits

It’s been confirmed that fury doesn’t care about a specific split. He wants a specific figure to fight and that money isn’t available.

they said if Fury got a 100% of the money and Usyk got nothing, there still isn’t enough money to guarantee the amount Fury is asking for

warren said he only had X amount of money to work with that he can guarantee the fighters, but Fury’s specific amount he’s asking for is much bigger than what’s available

Is what it is. Fury doesn't fight who he doesn't want to fight. He's even said that

It happening in Saudi Arabia was Hearn/AJ/Matchrooms decision. Not Usyk.

So he got a bigger chunk of the pie the second fight because he was the champ? Fancy that.

By the way, on a different thread, someone made a great point. Andrew Golota used to take 80% of the pot. In fact, when he fought Chris Byrd who was the the HW champion, Golota made $4 million while Byrd made $450,000 only.
When Byrd complained to Don King, King asked him a simple question - “Of the 20,000 polish fans here, how many are here to watch you?”
The fight was at Madison Square Garden.

I cannot think of a better example than that.

That is a good example. I still think it's criminal though. They couldn't give Byrd $1million and Golota $3.5 million? After all, it does take two people to have a fight. Golota shouldn't have gotten a 10-1 stake. That's total nonsense.
