Headline is misleading. The point Mike is making is 100%. Similar to Canelo, if rounds are close the judges will lean to Fury and if Usyk can't get Fury's respect..Fury will keep coming until Usyk slows enough to get caught. Usyk needs to get Fury's respect but doubts that he can and expects it to play out like Canelo/Plant or Ibeabuchi/Bird.

I wasn't at all supersized that Fury beating Wilder but they way he did it was a complete departure of his usual style.

The question is, will it ever happen? , Fury sees himself as a money making entertainer like Jake Paul with boxing credentials. Beating Usyk isn't easy, he is multi dimensional and he is not there for the money, he's coming to win. Based upon Fury's barrage of excuses I'm not sure he even wants to find out.

Thier styles will result in a very boring fight. If you thought AJ Usyk was boring this will be worse. My prediction will be more of a Klitschko Fury style fight...where Fury and Usyk will have very little connects and a lot of holding

You do know that fight was 10 years ago right? I don't think it will be a blow out or anything but i can't see Usyk knocking out Fury or even hurting him after the Wilder fights we shall see though.

fury has 50 pounds on him. usyk cant just stand his ground, he can stay in range and circle but he cant just stand directly in front, fury will just tie him up and lean on him


fury has great stamina himself for his size so a close inside fight even if it smother's fury's power so what, what do you think the last 3rd of the fight looks like, usyk will be exhausted and fury would knock him out then.


usyk only real shot is to try to fight him the same way he fought AJ stick and move get in range to show you aint scared... it still wont work IMO but its the best strategy.



What mike is suggesting is how usyk would actually fight a guy with bad stamina and/or lots of power at distance, like basically how he should fight wilder, stay inside to smother his power and try to grind him down.

Usyk can stay in front of Fury all night long and out work him , make him look sloppy and vulnerable. Fury knows this it’s why he doesn’t mind not fighting him and if he does will hold a lot and clinch and hit because if he doesn’t he’s going to lose . Fury does not like fast paced fights where he has to match the opponents punch counts ,it’s why he loves fighting Wilder who wastes tremendous time in between punches and lets Fury fight at a pace he wants .

Usyk will do an Otto Wallin on Fury on pace alone in a clean fight where mainly boxing takes place , the saving Grace for Fury is his size alone in this one again if not for it he’d be screwed ,just like he admitted with Wilder acknowledging his weight caused him to be able to get back up from his shots , Usyk doesn’t need power like that and in fact is dangerous in other ways ,people forget Wallin rocked .Fury at the last round and he doesn’t have Usyks engine ,if Fury gets buzzed early it coukd be all that’s needed here .

I'm not convinced about Tyson knowing that much. Everyone always makes Mike to be out a lot smarter than he is. I'm a fan of his but just because he learnt some history and watched some old fights doesn't make him smart. I've heard him interviewed and asked about all those old fighters he supposedly is an expert on and he nothing to say about them beyond very basic stuff. It's more that Mike is smarter than most people expect

Mike was saying Jake Paul was going to win the other week. Tyson Fury is named after him - that's what is going on here.

But look at Cunnighams HW record - terrible and Fury has said in that Joe Rogan interview that Cunningham is the only guy he could do nothing with. Fury struggled against Wallin. He has trouble with decent boxers and Usyk is a very decent boxer. Fury is the one trying to avoid the fight too
