Usyk wouldn’t sell a quarter of that stadium without someone like Fury or AJ standing in the opposite corner.

Give Usyk 100 belts and he still isn’t filling a stadium without a bigger name A-side opposite him.

It’s business and Usyk simply doesn’t bring the same money to the table on his own. All he brings is belts that Fury has already won before and he said he doesn’t need them twice.

In summary: you want to excuse Fury from not pursuing the fight.

It's business, but there are only two fighter who can make the undisputed fight. If the fight is to be made, then both parties have to make overtures to the other side and be ready to compromise.

Which of the two following options sound like a more genuine attempt to negotiate a fight:

    Option A: we want 50/50
Option B: fall in line and you might get the fight

It's a business all right, but telling a unified champ to fall in line and you might get the fight is no attempt to negotiate anything.

No, I would prefer them to both get 50-50, and we get to see the fight as fans.

but I’m realistic and I understand how business works. The reason the likes of top rank have been operating for decades is because they’re not giving half of their revenue away to parties that don’t bring half the revenue to the table. They negotiate the split their fighter deserves in terms of their pull.

anyway, I wouldn’t take John Fury’s quotes at any value. He’s not part of the team and he’s not negotiating.

fury has already said he doesn’t care about undisputed because he’s already won all those belts before and doesn’t need them twice , so it really depends on how much Usyk wants that last belt and if he’s willing to acknowledge he’s not a financial equal to Tyson Fury when it comes to pulling power.

I don’t care either way, I’m not getting any of their money and I’m happy to pay for the fight if it happens, so they are getting my money….but this discussion is about how the fight is going to get made and in my opinion it’s not going to get made unless Usyk accepts a lesser split and I don’t think anybody could argue it’s unjustified when you consider who can bring the most as an A side

let Usyk take his three belts and try and make that same money against Joe Joyce or Hrgovic or somebody. even if he gets 80% of the split, He still won’t get nearly the same money as he could v Fury at 40% because he can’t fill stadiums as the main man

and the reality is Tyson Fury’s team know this and Usyk’s team probably know it too and will probably end up accepting a lesser split but they have to start at 50-50 knowing they might get knocked down a bit anyway.

usyk is not making 8 figures without someone like Tyson Fury or Anthony Joshua in the opposite corner

Fury is biggest fraud in boxing. Fought TWO top-10 fighters in 7 years. Pulled out of 2 Joshua fights - the 2nd time after giving 3 deadlines, two of which were 24 hours and the other was 10 days.

IF you think Fury really wants these fights you really did drink the Kool-Aid.

The reality is Fury struggles with people who can box. (Cunningham, Wallin, even Price out-boxed and beat him).

Even if Usyk accepts 60/40 there will be more obstacles that stop the fight from happening. AJ accepted 60/40 which Fury clearly didn't think he would Then he had to stop AJ getting his sponsors displayed in the event so he couldn't take the fight. While they were trying to sort that out - Fury put a deadline on it and got out of the fight, all within a couple of weeks.

Usyk doesn't need Fury. He should put a deadline on Fury and then refuse to fight him ever.

But it is clear that Fury does not really care about the belts 'Not to the extent you would think as a fighter'.

There are people on this thread claiming that Fury is the bigger fighter, and citing that he has sold out stadiums.

The Worth of the Undisputed title goes beyond all of that. The Worth of Championship belts is immaterial 'And it is this worth that survives the passage of time, this is essentially what creates greatness'.

And the fact of the matter is 'Oleksandr Usyk has Four Championship belts, WBA, WBO, IBF & IBO Heavyweight titles'.

Tyson Fury is going to do good business still if he agree's to a 50/50 split. And if he does become the Undisputed Champion 'No fighter in the Heavyweight division, can make any sort of demands towards him not even Anthony Joshua'.

Right now Tyson Fury thinks he is beyond the belts, he thinks in his mind 'That he has transcended the titles'.

Very few fighters reach this level, the last fighters to do this were Mike Tyson & Muhammad Ali.

People used to think Joshua had reached this level, but it is clear now without any titles 'That he has not'.

And Tyson Fury has not reached this level, the Fury reign for me has been terrible. Never before has public perception been so low towards Fury 'Not that Fury would care and should really care, but that is the situation'.

Even his own hardcore fans, the straight up men who on a daily basis defend him 'Are starting to see the damage they have done to themselves'.

To be a hardcore Tyson Fury fan and a man 'Sometimes you have to betray yourself on a daily basis'. Betray your own standards or what you would expect from a Champion 'Due to the games and sociopolitical tactics Fury uses'.

Ether Fury wants to fight for the Glory which is right there in front of him, or he wants to continue to play games.

Note: Tyson Fury is a great fighter, and he is not a bad guy 'I was backing him against Whyte'. But ever since he has become Champion, it has been extremely difficult for fighters to actually fight him 'Overly difficult and unnecessary'. And the opportunistic tactics he can sometimes use to defame the character of his competition, to boast his reputation is 'Something I have never seen a elite Champion do'. We all know that he offered Joshua the fight back in December full well knowing there was a high-likely-hood Joshua would not take the fight 'But Anthony Joshua agreed to the fight, which was not a anticipated move'.

I think Tyson Fury right now, knows exactly what he is doing and who he is going to fight next 'If the Usyk fight does not take place'.

I understand why Fury is campaigning this fight, but fact remains 'Joshua fought Usyk twice, and once in the UK' This fight is there to be made.

"Right now Tyson Fury thinks he is beyond the belts, he thinks in his mind 'That he has transcended the titles'.
Very few fighters reach this level, the last fighters to do this were Mike Tyson & Muhammad Ali".

            What silliness is this?
There is only ONE Heavyweight Champion of the world and it has Always been thus. Fury easily beat the champion before him, Wladimir Klitschko, when Klitschko had a bunch of belts and unquestioned supremacy over the division. Before Klitschko there was Lennox Lewis- Hasim Rahman- Lennox Lewis- Shannon Briggs- George Foreman- Michael Moorer- Evander Holyfield- Rid**** Bowe- Evander Holyfield- Buster Douglas- Mike Tyson- Michael Spinks- Larry Holmes- Muhammad Ali.......all the way back to Onomastos of Smyrna in 688 BC.

Nobody has beaten Fury since, and the number 2 heavyweight of this era has had 3 tries at it.

The 3rd best of this era, be it Joshua or Ruiz or Usyk or Whyte, are are all a big drop down from Fury and Wilder. The proof is in the Ring.

Those meaningless belts that unscrupulous "Sanctioning bodies" literally sell to promoters to give their shows "meaning" Do Not supercede what happens in the ring, ever. Especially at heavyweight where title lineage is crystal clear.
            That's Boxing History 101.

When Pacqiao signed up to fight Spence, who do you suppose was the A side in that fight? Keep in mind, Spence had two belts.
If Floyd was to unretire today and challenged thee three belt holder Spence, who do you suppose would be the B side? I’m going to assume you’ll say Floyd would be the B side?

                Agreed about John Fury.

And I agree that Usyk taking a lesser split makes the fight more likely to occur. One of my points is that if 60/40 is a split that Top Tank would be OK to proceed with, then team Usyk publicly stating that 50/50 is their "want" is most likely akin to a willingness to give up a bit in private negotiation and hence indicates a willingness to pursue the fight. The noises from Top Rank sound like they are less inclined to engage. eg. Arum just seemed to dead bat the thing away when asked.

I am tired of Fury and his dad. I won`t even watch him unless he fights Usyk, Joshua or Joyce.

To be honest, I still haven`t seen his last fight. Well, it was irrelevant anyway.

Usyk has three of the four titles. Fury needs them to be the fully unified champ and Usyk needs Fury's one. As they both need each other for the full unification fight to happen, if the only real obstacle is the split then why not 50/50 with rematch 65/35 in favour of the champ? Perhaps the real.issue is Fury doesn't particularly fancy the fight? Whichever way it is/goes Journeyman John needs to stfu.
