I'm not so sure about that Lara punches harder than Venado it would be a fire fight, but if Warrington can stun Lopez I think Lara can too.

Think about what you just said though, Lara flatlined someone Venado went to a close decision with. So they both are fighting UK cans? I like both fighters equally but just be real lol.

I can't help but wonder if this will damage Wood's relationship with Ben. This could potentially haunt Wood if he thinks he could've survived the round and potentially come back to win.

so maybe he went down again, or took a knee - legs being like jelly is what happens when you get knocked down hard - survival instincts kick in - your legs can be gone but you can survive by skill or luck

a world champion who is 5 rounds to one up and boxing beautifully and knocked down with just less than ten seconds to survive deserves the chance to continue

wood will forever wonder what might have been - he and Davidson will not remain friends after he retires as that will always be an issue between them

and .... all this fuss about maybe he could be changed forever, maybe he could be brain damaged like Michael Watson - nonsense! Yeah maybe - but since Watson was injured 40 years ago there have been hundreds of thousands of KOs in boxing - don't believe me? - go to boxrec and click on the schedule button to see how many fights occur every week - literally hundreds most weeks - maybe at a stretch 100 fighters are brain damaged - it's a known risk before you fight your first round of pro boxing - this is boxing - bad call by Davidson given the circumstances

Great fight, could've been FOTY if Wood was given a chance to prove he could recover. Can't wait for the rematch! If Wood gets hurt in the rematch, he should be allowed to go out on his shield.

Wood needs to go to the body more if there's a rematch.

                Naw same brutal outcome.

Lara vs Lopez is the fight to make.

Also commentary was disgustingly bias like always.

Its not just about death its about careers and life after boxing.
You really don't want to taking shots from a puncher, a combination finisher like that especially without having your wits about you and legs under you.
Its those brutal knockouts that often just completely take it out of a fighter and they're often not the same again or can't hold a shot as well then you have potential long term damage.

Say it went on I think 99.9% of us could agree he's getting either getting put clean out in his corner or at the very least he's taking multiple shots and finishing the round saved by the bell in a far worst state than he was already.

His body wasn't reacting, his legs gone, senses scrambled. It's not like he has good survival instincts or is great at tying a fighter up, everytime they came together or clinching Lara was landing leather and even when not hurt he wasn't taking those short shots inside well at all, he almost looked like a guy who'd not been hit before.

The ref should have waived that off.

I get he was well ahead and there was only 10 seconds left, its unfortunate but for me it was totally the right decision. Better to stop a fight a punch too soon than a punch too late.
