I thought this fight was going to be a classic but it turned out to be a one-sided beat down from Wood until he got ****y and stopped setting up from his jab. I think the stoppage was fair from Davidson. Although Wood could have just taken the knee for a second knockdown to see out the round, but he wouldn't have known what time was left on the clock. And his mentality would have been to go out guns blazing, Davidson new this and didn't want to risk his fighter especially knowing there is a rematch clause.

Definitely don’t agree with the corner stopping the fight. Wood was up on the cards and he was a defending champion that had to survive roughly 10 seconds. Let the champ go out on his shield.

I'm not arguing whether he was done or not. The ref didn't stop it, there was less than 10 seconds left and he has comeback from being hurt before. Maybe Wood would've preffered getting KTFO, that way there are no questions left on the table.

Wood needs to go to the body more if there's a rematch.

He was investing to the body with the stabbing jab. The biggest lesson: Don't trade hooks with a hooker! Wood also took one too many punches in the 2nd round (iirc), and getting cut so early did him no favors.

I had the commentary on mute (as usual) and had some instrumentals playing. When I watch boxing, I prefer to focus on the boxers and not get distracted by the commentary. I wish there was a way to turn off the commentary but keep the crowd noise.

My pick before the fight was Lara, but I was losing hope as the rounds went by lol. That was some shot. Seeing how little time there was left in the round, I would have let Wood try to clinch his way out or take a knee. If he was still out of it after the break, then pull the plug. It looked like the ref was willing to give him more time to recover anyway. Lara was chompin' at the bit to resume action, and the ref was pushing him back lol. I was surprised to see the towel fly in.
