Broner being looked at for a fight with an up and comer in Benn was due to (Rightly or wrongly) Broner being a well known name. Nothing out of the ordinary there. With that logic, it would be like saying Americans put Brits on a pedestal because a prime Crawford fought shot fighters in Brook and Khan. It literally makes no sense.
