AJ is coming from two losses. I mean, you really expected him to fight a top 10 guy?

Wilder got a pass ford fighting Helenius.

Hearn was the guy claiming it would be “a top 15 guy”, mentioning Fury, mentioning Wilder etc.

As I’ve said, if the Matchroom brass were honest about AJ needing a tuneup, there would be far less backlash over Franklin.

I get he needs a confidence builder but this is ultra safe. You used Helenius as a comparison, but he at least was coming off two good wins vs Kownacki. Franklin has never beaten anyone.

But AJ is coming off 2 back to back defeats and he hasn't already beaten Franklin twice without raising a sweat.

          What’s your point?

As I’ve just said, I’m not saying it’s more or less logical. I’m saying it’s a complete mismatch just like Fury-Chisora was.

Joshua losing twice to Usyk doesn’t make this any less of a mismatch.

Hearn never mentioned Fury or Wilder as possibilities for AJ's first fight back after losing twice to Usyk. He said all along that AJ would need to ease himself back into things with an easier fight first.

If we're talking about dishonesty, I've always been more of a Fury fan than an AJ fan, which is why I literally cringed with embarrassment watching Tyson spit his dummy and storm out of an interview with True Geordie, simply because the guy refused to go along with the bull**** Tyson was feeding him about what a dangerous opponent Chisora was.

1:10 in. “AJ will fight in March, could that be Wilder? Possibly?” ****** to rights.

They were talking about the Fury fight last December and he’s literally saying at the moment: Joshua will fight Fury in the summer. You really think he’ll go from Franklin in April to Fury in July?

You’re always so desperate to defend Eddie.

Fury-Chisora 3 was complete bullsh**, I sh** on that fight as much as anyone but it doesn’t justify Joshua-Franklin which is another trash fight. Both were/are sh**ty fights that we didn’t/don’t want or need to see.

You really don't see how AJ coming back from 2 consecutive defeats, with no world titles and a new trainer, is going to affect the quality of his next opponent?

And talking about the new trainer ... it was Derrik James who picked Franklin as the come-back opponent, not Eddie Hearn.

Joshua could beat Franklin with me in his corner. All I’m hearing is excuses. Joshua is an experience fighter, a new trainer barely even matters.

Do you actually think Joshua vs Franklin will be competitive?

Or like me do you think AJ deals with him easily?

Ok, so he said he was going to be talking with Finkel later that day and he was open to having a conversation about the possibility of it being Wilder next. He then says that because of the Wilder/Ruiz situation, he was thinking that Wilder/AJ would be more of a possibility later in the summer. It's a hell of a stretch to go from that to, "Eddie was pretending that AJ was going to fight Wilder next"

I'm not desperate to defend Hearn at all. I just don't like the relentless, non stop bias against him and AJ that I see all the time at this place.
