99% of fights end up on the floor, that's why it's laughable to hear people claim that elite boxers can beat anyone up, their boxing skills aren't worth **** on the floor.

They're pugilists not brawlers and no boxer would ever dominate MMA (which is much closer to real life fighting than boxing).

And I say this as a boxing fan, I don't even watch ****ty MMA hardly at all.

Then explain Machida. A karate guy who specializes in striking and defending against takedowns.

Hence, it is conceivable if a boxer learned takedown defense, he would be a force in MMA. Has it been done yet? No, but its conceivable.

If you read my previous post clown, you would see that i said that when no punches were being thrown and there was just hugging on the floor the fight would be broken up.

No mate, I'm just telling you that if you honestly think that what goes on in your high school is what will happen when someone decides you look like a juicy morsel full of cash, he won't be hugging you on the ground and there won't be friends you can all to and say "Oh, ok, we're just hugging now, can you get him off me and help us up?"

Again, I don't know what's the deal with me pretending to be tough. I'm pretty sure that the 98% of the board would agree when I say that no fight ever stopped on the ground with two guys hugging and doing nothing else. If you're on top you're either getting a million punches thrown at you from above or getting your nose broken by a headbutt or he was able to get off you, jump up and then stomp you.

exactly, they're not trained to defend takedowns. And that's one of the things that would happen to them in a real life fight as one of the first things people do in a real life fight is try to grab the other guy. How is a boxer going to punch someone if they're jumping all over you MMA style?

none of these truly elite boxers like ODLH, Mayweather, Pacquaio, Hatton, Cotto would dare get in an MMA ring, they'd get stomped, chewed up and spat out.

And as I say, I don't even like MMA, it's boring as fcuk.

This is very true. Fights aren't like high school or some other crap. If someone wants to attack you, it's for a reason. They're either psycho and just want to stab, kill, beat the hell out of you or steal your **** or they're in a gang of super cool, tough thugs that are bored and want to beat people up etc etc.

Maybe some guy is a junky who's hanging and is desperate for a hit and decides you look like you have enough money to get him one. They aren't going to ask you! They will jump you from behind, with a bat, knife, gun, they won't politely let you up if you fall over. They will bite, gouge, stomp your head, nuts anything. What world do you people live in?

I've only had a couple of (unarmed) street fights, but neither went to the ground. I knocked the guys to the ground and one gave up verbally and the other couldn't really get up.
