No I don't remember him being so lousy. I guess my own level improving changes my perception

There are worse HW belt holders than him, but Rahman is definitely one of the worst lineal champs for sure.

When he was active it seemed like he was a getting title shot almost every other fight no matter how bad he looked in his previous fight, that made me dislike him even more.

I can see argument for him being the worst LINEAL champion, but there have been way too many bad champs with the 3/4 belt era.

Charles Martin, Siarhei Liakhovich, Lamon Brewster (Who Rahman has a win over) Bruce Seldon, Herbie Hide, Sultan Ibragimov, Corrie Sanders (Who I quite liked. but Rahman beat him too)

Remember, Charles Martin only won his World Heavyweight Championship when his opponent blew out his knee in the second round.

Yeah Even his Rahmans Ko highlight are trash. He's not some one punch dynamite boxer. He hits cans over and over again.

It's funny how McCall and Rahman are both talked about in this thread as bad, yet they accomplished something that no other heavyweight did by knocking out Lennox Lewis.

Lennox Lewis would easily destroy today's heavyweight division. The only competitive fight for him would be Tyson Fury, but I'm not sure it would be that hard since Lennox was light years ahead of Deontay Wilder in boxing IQ.

Look at the KO highlight I posted above. He doesn't even look good there.

The 80's were littered with garbage ''champs''
                Almost too many to mention.
Mike Weaver, Leon Spinks, John Tate, Bonercrusher, Page......

Then there were the Bruce Seldon's, Herbe Hide's and Frank Bruno's of the sport.

I guess most divs have one and done chumps.
You listed a bunch of skilled HW's that would be favorites vs most of todays heavies including AJ and Wilder.

Rahman earned his belt by knocking out Lennox Lewis. Charles Martin got his belt because his opponent injured his knee during their fight lol. He then quickly sold it to Hearn to gift to the bodybuilder.

I'd hold off on calling those I mentioned ''skilled''

I've said as often as I'm allowed to...
Today's HWs are the worst sacks of shlt to lace them up (Usyk is good, Wilder is entertaining).

However, one era's chump being better than another era's chump is not really a compliment.
