I wasn't going to say anything. I'm guessing it'll accumulate by the time the fight draws closer.

And it irritates the hell out of most neutral boxing fans that so many of his so-called fans justify his refusal to do so on the basis that he's such a wonderful businessman. I don't give a stuff how much money he's made, I just want to see great fights, in which the best fighters in the world test their talent against the top contenders; and I find it very hard, if not impossible, to respect anyone who claims to be a boxing fan but who would rather the fighters they support make more money in a meaningless fight than a little less money in a great fight against their most meaningful opponents.

His fans justify his fighting Marquez on the basis that Marquez called him out - as if he had no choice in who he fights! LOL! - but when the #1 ranked Welterweight in the world, Mosley, calls him out, and he claims that Mosley doesn't "deserve" a shot against him because "he's not a draw" or because "he didn't give me a shot several years ago", they lap up his ridiculous excuses and regurgitate them like religious zealots.

He's an all time great talent, but to be an all time great fighter, you have to fight the best possible opponents, which he doesn't want to do, and that's very sad.

And what's even sadder is that many of his so-called fans seem to be far more interested in accountancy than they are in watching great fights.

That's the thing - people **** on floyd for picking his fights as a 'business', but the truth is that 90% of all the other boxers are doing the same. exact. thing.

Maybe guys like Cotto, JMM, Pwill, etc. are the exception, but the vast majority of boxers, Floyd included, are cherry picking as much as they can.

And in all honestly, who wouldn't? Take for example, DLH. Obviously, without a doubt, faded, and way way way past his prime. Yet, if he were to announce tomorrow that he wanted to fight just one last time - would anyone not clamor for that fight? Knowing that they'd make *millions*, and probably their biggest payday from it?

That's the bottomline - put 10 other boxers in Floyd's current situation, and 9 of them will pick their fights just like he's doing now.

Couldn't agree more. I'm a fan of his and I want him in there with a WW. I understand both the business aspect and the fighters aspect of the game. Mayweather's very wise yet so ****** in a sense. As a fighter he needs to step up. People will understand that steeping up wont involve the much smaller man in Pac who he (Mayweather) out classes with that "ATG TALENT".

I agree with every point. Its why I don't want to see him with Pac. At the end of the day Pac will be labeled as yet another small fighter that he cherry picked. I've wanted Mayweather to fight Cotto and Mosley for several years now. But I understand why he fought Hatton and I understand why he wants to fight Pac. fighting Pac will break records, its just that IMO it will be a very disappointing fight. Just as the JMM fight was. The poll I viewed had 56% of the people wishing/preying that Mayweather would lose. The 1MIL PPV buys where probably a lot of people doing the same.

His fans justify his fighting Marquez on the basis that Marquez called him out - as if he had no choice in who he fights! Well he did in fact call out Mosley when Mosley was prime or depending on how you look at it, more prime than now and Mosley took the dentist appt over Mayweather. JMM was a tune up fight made to make Mayweather look good. It was a a fight to show Pac that he beat the guy that gave him hell. Just as Pac did to De La Hoya who ALSO looked like a ZOMBIE. His fault right? That's how the Pac fans justify it. Well it was JMM's fault for taking on a fight with Mayweather... same double standard here. Like I said it was a fight to make Mayweather look good and to show Pac how easy it was to school him technically. May will do the same to Pac no matter what the size is.

He's an all time great talent, but to be an all time great fighter, you have to fight the best possible opponents, which he doesn't want to do, and that's very sad.
Agreed. I want to see him in the ring battling it out vs someone his size if not bigger so he can prove himself. Even then people would argue the win.

And what's even sadder is that many of his so-called fans seem to be far more interested in accountancy than they are in watching great fights.
Sadly that is the truth. Fact is there is a reason there on here crying about it and not out there making money with that "skill"....... They suck!
