Yeah, cuz that's how we measure up greatness in boxing. How much money you can make.

Floyds 2nd greatest of all time only next to George Foreman and his ATG grills. Mickey Rourke is up there but still a distant 3rd. Sugar Ray Robinson honorable mention at #35,980. (The dollar wasn't worth much back then).

1M buyers were duped of last saturday's fight. they were made to believed that it would be a fair fight, but it was not.

I'm very interested in the business aspect of the sport.

It allows me to combine two of my passions: economics and boxing.

Something tells me this thread will get pulled up again until Pacquiao-Cotto.

            Going on 50 pages maybe?

So that extra 2M in your example is on top of the 3.8M guarantee and the 600k??

The guarantee for Marquez seems to be USD 2 million. And then he collected the $600K weight penalty.

I think the $15 mil for Floyd/$3.2 mil for marquez numbers that we heard were based on sales projections of around 600K. I don't know this for sure.

But if you just look at the total PPV revenue, Marquez' cut of that is probably 3-4 million on top of his $2 million guarantee. Assuming prety normal PPV cuts where the distribution network shares in the revenues.

JMM went home with $2mil base + $3 mil PPV cut + 600K weight buyout = $5.5 to 6 million. (estimate)

                  MindBat,

I believe that Cotto-pac will do 700K. I'm going on the record.

I disagree if this were about mexicans buyiong the foght than Barrera -Marquez would have done more than 250k ppv and if it were about many than manny-barrera would have done mpore than 350 k
