I can't believe that a thread about the PPV figures for the fight is already 30 pages long, when the threads about the fight itself were far shorter! It says something that people are more interested in how much money Floyd's fights make than they are in the actual fights!

Yeah yeah yeah, we all know that mexicans are the ones that made this happen. Just about everyone I know bought it (mexicans). That's not even to mention how many of them stole it haha.

The PR's are not hating on FMJ, we are just used to warriors that are willing to fight the best and challenge themselves just like Mexicans are used to also. I am certain that Cotto/Pac will outsell Jr./JMM which will prove that Jr. is not the biggest draw. Anyways, at the end of their careers people wil remember the champions that fought the best competition available and not the ones that sold the most PPV's. Cotto has faced all of the top WW's, what has Floyd done in the WW Division other than beating Baldomir and Gatti? Here you go Just pretend it's Mayweather's ****.
But yet FMJ is more popular.. Cotto won't be remembered outside of PR. He has fought all the top WW but can't climb past #8 on the p4p list.

That just shows the mental age of those who love seeing and hearing about Mayweather.

He was internationally known for being an excellent fighter, but very carefully chosing his opponent [remember the fight with Corrales who almost died=figuratively (and almost literally, I believe)] speaking, to make a weight that he'd long outgrown. The tempting of Corrales with cash when he was so desperately in need, and on his way to gaol, to me was cynical and disreputable.

BUT.........something must have happened to Mayweather "on his way to the forum" since until recently, what he was known BEST for, was that the arenas were usually half empty, and his fights always "STUNK OUT THE JOINT".

this is a great victory for boxing!!!

Can't wait for pac/cotto megafight. that will destroy the ufc card way worst than what mayweather/marq just did.

I feel ya. But for knowledgeable boxing fans that knew the outcome, there wasn't much more to say other than Mayweather was going to whoop that ass, Mayweather JMM would sell, Mayweather would prove many wrong (56% on HBO.com), Mayweather once again proved his technical skills are on another level than most etc... The fight itself was only going to come out one way.... The way myself and many fans that know the sport did. The same will be if Pac fights Mayweather.

Everyone turns to cash money because that seems to be his (Mayweather's) only obvious weakness in terms of having something factual to hold over his head. It's mainly the haters that don't understand how great he is. They must distract his greatness in the ring with outside "publicity" stunts, hoping it would blur peoples opinions on just how GREAT Mayweather truly is. Forget the man himself. Forget the words he speaks, forget anything about him other than when he steps in the ring and there is no possible way to hate the man.

He is technically the best active fighter I have ever seen..... Deep down I think people know he has talent, just hate him so much that they avoid the truth.

You should probably tell the newspapers that they got it wrong. Of all the articles i've read, they are proclaiming Mayweather - not Marquez - as the star.

Still, i'm sure Mayweather appreciates the Mexican community sending him all this money.

...and I look forward to Marquez' huge PPV's in the future

Yes these childish fans who like to watch a skilled exhibition of the sweet science rather than a two round brawl that ended with a knock-out from a no-look punch... riiigghhttt... why you mad? 3 fights giving each of his opponents their biggest payday the latest after being out of the ring for almost 2 years... we'll see how pac-cotto does in the mean time floyd is the undisputed cash cow of boxing and GBP is promotional king, And that million does not count the turn out in theaters which was reported to be about 80%. WOOOWWW to the corrales statement when he never had a pro bout over the weight class that he "long since outgrown" GTFO here with that **** lol I will admit that he struggled to make the weight but you can't make that excuse it wasn't like he fought at WW and then jumped back down like say ummmmm DLH before his fight with pac
