Since he joined Reynoso he improved defensively but went from throwing his punches in bunches to throwing single power shots leaving himself open and letting his opponents adjust. His pressure and gas tank made up for his deficiencies so to me it feels like the advantages are gone.

It would only take a KO artist like Wilder to just time him to take him out or turn the tides while a technical fighter like Usyk could take advantage minimizing any damage. Not that I favored Ruiz over them, just that prior to the change he made his odds would have been more successful.

Andy got 2 options, highly lucrative but also high risk fight vs Wilder or a direct title shot against no that much of risky opponent in Hrgovic but for smaller bag$. Now if he goes Wilder path, wouldn't mind AJ stepping in against Filip.

I totally disagree Ruiz should be made to order for the big Croat. Ruiz has looked shot since the Joshua fights he's just been in the ring with old men. Once he fights a live body the slippage will show.

His style of blocking punches with his face only works in movies. He doesn't box on a high level, he bullies smaller and weaker guys with no power but that's all he can do. Against Zhang walking straight forward with hands down and not moving his head was a good display of his true level. Zhang has poor cardio and he's old and these were the saving factors for Hrgovic in that fight. Guys who box on a high level don't have their face marked up against Ahmatovic level opponents.

Andy is a counter puncher and has fast hands. Stylistically he is very bad for a stationary and slow guy like Filip. Andy by TKO 7.

After Hrgovic Zhang the Hrgovic bubble burst, though he's still to young for Ruiz.
What i don't understand is Ruiz high ranking after fighting only 2 shot past it old 40 somethings in 3 year's.
Aj i believe his only goal now (apart from money) is 3 times, & like his first run he will take the path of least resistance, Ruiz will want that Aj cheque & Aj can run away from Ruiz all night.

These alphabelts need to start dropping fighter's in theyre rankings for avoiding mandated fight's, let the likes of Sanchez get they're shot.

I will go a step further: I think Ortiz won every round that he did not knocked down when he fought Ruiz. It is just unfortunate for Ortiz he is slower and easier to hit because one less time on the canvas and I think he wins that fight. Ruiz has the ability to still win against any HW without true technical skills or only so-so power. But Hrgovic is not a scrub, and he can beat Ruiz.

Not that I think for one second this fight happens. It is just a toothless mandatory to make it look like the IBF is doing something relevant in the HW division. It will obviously be ignored by Ruiz and his camp as they will get a bigger cash fight which Ruiz needs now.

Won't happen but Andy would box Hrgovic's ears off.

Ruiz will probably prefer Wilder for much more money if that fight is going ahead. Moreover, there might be no "Fury route" or "Usyk route" if they decide to unify which looks likely. Fury or Usyk (most probably Fury) will retain 1-2 belts (most likely WBC) and let go of the others.

So, the two routes would be the winner of Fury and Usyk for WBC or some other contender-level guy (or even getting promoted to champion and ordered to fight some other mandatory guy).

Not sure if you've been watching Ruiz since he beat AJ, but he's been increasingly poor since. Arreolas had him down and rocked and a 52 year-old Ortiz was landing at will rattling his cage. Andy was playing it insanely safe with him.

I agree, Hrgovic's defense againt Zhang was a travesty and hard to watch at times, but the takeaway was he can take big shots from a big guy who can punch, Andy can't. I disagree that Hrgovic doesn't box on a high level, I think that's his strongest suit to be fair.

I don't think Andy can beat Zhang to be fair.
