He wasn't able to make adjustments, and level up his game as he stepped up in competition. If you're still making the same major mistakes (loading up on punches, inability to cut off ring, sloppy defense, inability to make adjustments in fight) in fight after fight, you won't be able to fight at the top level until you get over yourself and actually learn. Sure, he's winning now against this level of opponent, but he's got to show he can make the changes.Rebelrbg

Berlanga is decent but it doesn't look like he's improving from one fight to the next. That could be due to many factors, but good luck to him

It's all downhill from here for Berlanga.
He won't be protected from here on out now.Rebelrbg likes this.

Although he's getting a little exposed the more he steps up in class, fights like Berlanga vs Charlo / Andrade / Benevidez / Plant / Morrell are still very fun fights to look forward to. PBC signed Andrade and immediately threw himon a PPV to try and boost his profile. I could see them signing Berlanga and throwing him on the Tank v Ryan undercard against the likes of Andre / Anthony Dirrell.Numbr6

Not too long ago, Top Rank released Elvis Rodriguez after he lost to Kenneth Sims Jr.
Handwriting is on the wall for Berlanga. His power seems less impressive as the competition increased and he doesn't come off as the most humble fighter that is looking to improve.
