Comments Thread For: A Deontay Wilder Showdown Is One That Joseph Parker Would Welcome

The road back to pugilistic prosperity was undoubtedly arduous, but one that Joseph Parker was more than willing to go down. After coming up woefully short in back-to-back bouts against Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte, Parker (30-3, 21 KOs) dusted himself off and immediately began his rebuild. Although it was a protracted process, Parker began reaping the benefits, reeling off six consecutive wins.

A showdown with Joseph Parker is one that Jared Anderson would welcome. MAN UP!

Wilder is fighting PBC guys until a big fight can be made. I don't think Parker fits into those plans

Parker is trash. Wilder would obliterate him.

        Looked horrible against Joyce.
        Looked horrible against Chisora twice.
        Looked horrible against Fa.
        Looked horrible against Leapai.
Looked horrible against Whyte (even though he got robbed on a headbutt knockdown).
Looked horrible against Joshua (didn't even try to win).
Got a gift hometown decision against Ruiz.

Parker is not and has never been a top tier heavyweight.

Did you even watch the 2nd Chisora fight? He dropped him several times & kicked his a5s! He never looked like trash against Joyce either. He landed massive bombs throughout the fight but Joyce was just simply the better man. How many of the fights above did you actually watch? Did you just boxingrec those fights (Look at the decision on their site) or did you actually watch all those fights in their entirety? I’m just curious… You sound like you don’t like Parker no matter what he does…

A Joseph Parker fight would be a very good and interesting test for Deontay Wilder. Just remember that Parker has already defeated Andy Ruiz.

I wouldn’t mind seeing this fight all. I think Wilder lands the big shot to end it but Parker has the tools to win this fight but would he be able to avoid the big right for 12 rounds?

I watched every one of those fights.

Chisora was half dead and Parker couldn't finish him off. That's pathetic. Both of them were so gassed they could barely stand up. Can't even show up to a fight in shape.

Joyce has no good wins on his resume. He's not legit until he beats someone good. Washed fighters like Stiverne, Hammer, Jennings, and Parker don't count. Get him in there with Usyk, Fury, Wilder, or Joshua and we'll talk.

Did you watch Parker struggle mightily with the ghost of Alex Leapai?

Did you watch him arguably get handed a gift against Junior Fa, who got obliterated by old man Lucas Browne (coming off a KO loss to a rugby guy) in one round?

Would be a good yardstick. Can Wilder do better than Juggernaut Joyce? We still don’t know where Wilder is after non test vs Helenius
