Comments Thread For: Bozy Ennis: Chukhadzhian Really Didn't Come To Fight; Ain't Nothing We Can Do About That

WASHINGTON - Jaron Ennis and his father feel there were plenty of things that the undefeated welterweight could've done better to curtail Karen Chukhadshian's constant movement Saturday night.

So dad doesn't understand but son does.

Bozy is going to get his kid hurt.

No, what you needed to do was stop following the dude around the ring, and actually use some feints instead of throwing haymakers with every shot.

“It’s a lotta things that I coulda done better,” Jaron Ennis said. “You know, cut the ring off a little better, stay a little sharper, you know, not looking, you know, [for the knockout]. I wasn’t necessarily looking for the knockout. Just having more fun, like how I was in the middle rounds, and things like that. But back to the gym on Monday, you know, to get better, you know, sharpen up.”
This is common sense right here. Ignore your dad. Get better.

Cutting off ring better and more selective punches instead of wild haymakers could've been key to stop Karen but it is what it is,maybe going full distance was beneficial too .

Good experience for boots, he needs these types of fights. Nothings wrong with going the distance against an opponent moving around with a good chin. Its better to learn things against an opponent like that then to end up like Erikson Lol bin. Boots is saying all the right stuff, get back in the gym and work on cutting the ring off and properly placing shots, no haymakers.

Exactly - that's what the marks (the people who call themselves "fans" but aren't because they say Karen was "running" when the dude was basically boxing circles around Boots) don't understand.

This was GOOD for Boots. This is what he needed. He needed rounds, he needed this experience.

Better it happen against a pillow-fisted boxer than someone with a 70%+ knockout ratio.

That's what went wrong with Andre Berto - the moment he stepped up was against THE WRONG type of style and despite how good he did, it exposed flaws that should have been identified long before he met Ortiz. Same with Cory Spinks and Zab Judah.

It's called cutting off the ring.
Boots is indeed special but he & his father need to bring it down a notch.
Knocking out an undefeated Custio Clayton doesn't make you the best fighter in the world.
Crawford toys with Boots early & knocks him out late.
                  Period

I see a big difference between Crawford and Boots. Boots fights with complete arrogance, Crawford would have cut the ring off and took him out.

Not saying TC beats Boots since we haven't seen how Boots fights under pressure or against someone as skilled.
