That list isn't guys who I think would beat or lose to him. That list is talented contenders in the division who actually have the ability to possibly win a title at 147. If you read on the appropriate grade level to consider yourself an adult.

Do us all a favor and cut your WiFi off. I would like to hold boxing conversations with individuals who at least understand what I'm saying before trying to argue nonsense off subject.

Agree! I think that is his "Lane" fighting them to see who is the next King at 147

I was excited for Boots vs Speedy Ellis...since Villa beat Ellis why not give Villa that same opportunity and you get to fight a guy who will come forward too and not move around like Karen

Vergil ortiz's promotor will not want a fight with him. They are both upcoming talents, and vergil's promotor wouldn't want his momentum ruined by a loss to a more skilled ennis.

          Blair Cobbs???

Cobbs would be just more of the same. The rest of your list would be a nice step up, a good test even.

The first indication was your statement about him not beating anyone and having ZERO evidence of him trying to get a fight with anyone in the top 15 of the division, with the exception being the petition to fight Spence for his IBF title. You're demanding he fights people who may not really want to fight him for the fair market price and framing the situation as if he may be the problem because you don't have any evidence of him trying to get a fight with a top 15 fighter. How do you know if he's tried or not? I don't, but maybe the top guys don't want to fight him because he brings nothing to the table and he is not a soft touch.

You didn't "claim" I said it....but you are address me as if I did. But you want to push the "straw man argument" accusation on my end?.....I didn't demand ****..... I'm just a fan, I can't demand anything. I simply said he "needs to" fight specific individuals and I gave the reason why I chose those names. I clearly in my original post said that there is ZERO EVIDENCE OF HIM TRYING TO GET A FIGHT WITH ANYONE IN THE TOP 15 OF THE DIVISION. The respond with "how do I know if he tried or not"......... The answer to the question is in the original post.......THERE IS ZERO EVIDENCE OF HIM TRYING........Only thing we get from him is a bunch of blank claims that everyone is avoiding him.... but who is the "everyone"......The only names he mentioned are Crawford and Spence.....2 individuals who are out of his league and are trying to accomplish a specific goal......If you are going to lean so heavy on his claims of being avoided, then how about we point out the fact that Stanionis, Ortiz, Ellis, Cobbs, & Benn are all on record of saying they are willing to fight Boots......so somewhere there is a lie, because each of those guys are ranked welterweights, yet, Boots fought Karen.

The whole people who claim to be avoided are individuals who bring nothing to the table... is not a black and white thing. Yeah, Ennis doesn't bring money to the table but that doesn't mean he's not being avoided. There's still people that bring nothing to the table that get big opportunities, and that's because they're more beatable than someone like Ennis. Again, Ennis is asking for the opportunities and we don't really know what's happening behind closed doors.

You are being extremely hypocritical. First of all nothing in life is "black and white". Including your claim that people who claim to be avoided are trying to get big fights as if some don't say it for the sake of marketing themselves. The sport is about money. That's how you pay for the events themselves as well as the purses for the fighters, so the fact that Ennis doesn't bring big money to the table is a big reason why him claiming guys who get a $6M minimum not placing him as a priority is not evidence of being avoided. Or are you suggest that is "black and white". Ennis is asking for opportunities that he can get for himself if he decides to actually go through the process. Crawford wasn't marketed by a major promotion company to start his career. I remember seeing him fight in a gymnasium where the fight just before his had to be paused because the ring had a slight malfunction with the ropes (still didn't understand what was going on). Crawford went through the process. Ended up getting a big promotion deal with Top Rank. Fought the best contenders available leading up to getting a title shot overseas. He's earned the right to be able to demand $$ and an opportunity to build on his legacy by attempting to get the Spence fight. He doesn't owe Ennis a damn thing.

So what? Are you saying he enforced his mandatory too late for your liking? Spence didn't even fight in 2021 and his fight against Ugas was a unification bout, which would have taken priority anyways. Maybe he was just too optimistic his shot would be enforced sooner rather than later.

Again, are you attempt to act like you don't understand what I said for the sake of getting attention through arguments? Spence was suppose to fight Manny in 2021, but it didn't happen because he was punched in the eye by a sparring partner. But him not fighting in 2021 doesn't have a damn thing to do with what I said about Ennis becoming his mandatory in November of 2021. The point is, he had the platform to force the title shot he has been claiming he wants by petitioning for the fight rather than jumping in front of a camera crying about not getting the opportunity he claims he wants. His situation then is no different from his situation now. The Ugas fight wasn't negotiated until February 2022. Yes it was a unification bout.....well, a month ago, he petitioned to fight Spence.... last I check, the Crawford fight is a unification bout that clearly both fighter say they are going to come back to the table for....... If he was "too optimistic" then that is on him. I'm not knocking that, again, I'm addressing him claiming they are "avoiding him".

You say there's nothing in his resume that gives an accurate measure of how close he is to the elites but he has a common opponent with Crawford. Granted, that was not Dulorme at his best but Dulorme has been what he is ever since he was exposed by Abregu. Crawford stopped him in 6 and Ennis in 1. I'm not saying the win is of the same value, but you can get something out of it.

Are you seriously trying to argue Dulorme.... Now I can't take you seriously. There is NOTHING you get from the Dulorme fight that measures how he fairs vs Crawford. That argument is laughable.... You brought up Abregu because that was Dulorme's first lost....he wasn't "exposed". Mfers like using that word so damn freely without understanding the meaning.... What was exposed?......What is it in that fight that we found out about Dulorme that we didn't know before? He was simply beat by the better fighter. It was a back and forth bout, but Dulorme caught some clean shots that he couldn't recover from quick enough so his corner stopped the fight.

Here's where your "Crawford beat him in 6 and Ennis is 1" analogy is flawed..... Crawford was a 135 pounder who moved up to fight Dulorme was a welterweight who dropped down to 140 to win the WBO-NABF and WBO-NABO titles. Crawford beat a more experienced bigger man coming in with national titles in his prime.... Ennis fought a Dulorme who moved back up to 147 who had won just 1 fight out of 6 attempts in the previous 4 years. And he was on the verge of retiring after the Jamal James loss the year before. Do you honestly think Crawford wouldn't dismantle Dulorme in the first now that he is bigger, stronger, smarter, and more experienced as a welterweight? Please..... Dulorme would crumble in front of Crawford as a welterweight.....

You're also using his admittedly weak resume and contrasting it with his ambitious goals of fighting the top fighters as a bad thing. Who cares if he thinks he's better than the top guys, that they're avoiding him or afraid of him. He's a fighter, he's supposed to think that. I don't think Spence, Crawford, Thurman and most other top fighters are afraid of him, but he may not make any business sense right now for them, and that can be frustrating for someone like Ennis. If Crawford or Spence have a problem with him running his mouth they can shut him up in the ring.

You have way too much emotion invested in this discussion for the sake of Ennis..... He has a resume that is laughable when used to demand respect. He can be as ambitious as he wants, but I and many others will continue to point out that his cries that his resume warrants more respect and is proof that he is better than the elites in the division is an ignorant stance to take. And it's laughable that you are defending that stance so passionately.

And let's get this straight......you aren't talking to Crawford or Spence. As you can see, they aren't worried about Ennis or his comments. I don't speak for neither of them. I am a fan of the sport and I am discussing MY VIEWS/OPINIONS/THOUGHT/etc..... on the sport. So comments like "they can shut him up in the ring" is ****** because neither of them have came out and told him to shut up. As a matter of fact, Crawford's last interview was very complimentary of Ennis and said he's "suppose to want to fight the top dogs"..... Which I agree with.

My issue is that he recently have been trying to discredit and belittle the elites of the division as if he has accomplished so much and trying to paint the picture that they are avoiding him.

Maybe this is what really bothered you about him? I don't really follow Ennis, but I wouldn't be cool with him disrespecting Crawford's resume. Talk about a glass house... regardless, I think some (and I thought your post was one of those) are going a little too far on the other side of the spectrum by dissing Ennis.

There's no "maybe" to anything that bothers me. I didn't sugar code anything. I don't understand how you can say you don't follow Ennis, but then go through such an extent to defend the issues that I, who do follow him and have been following him since the amateurs, have with his recent actions. You take me stating certain facts as a "diss" to a man you admit you don't follow........hmmmmm. You are way to emotionally invested in this guy you don't follow.... What exactly is you point for trying to dissect my post then..... (Rhetorical......I don't care)

I actually think Lipinets was a pretty good win. He's definitely hyped, but he seems to have substance too, even you said he passes the eye test with flying color so what gives? I tend to think he's more willing to fight the guys you mentioned in your opening post more than those guys are willing to fight him.

Me admitting he passes the eye test simply means he is skilled. But it's not hard to pass the eye test vs a certain caliber of opponents..... He looked average at best vs Karen C. Had that been the only fight I've ever seen of Ennis, then I wouldn't have thought twice about him as being a possible face of the sport in the future.

Again, you believe he wants to fight the guys I mentioned more than they want to fight him. Why? Because he claims they are avoiding?......lol. As I stated.... Stanionis, Ellis, Cobbs, Ortiz, & Benn are all on record of saying they want to fight him..... So that debunks the notion that "no one wants to fight him"...... The next step is to reach out to those fighters, their managers, their promoters, etc... to begin a negotiation for the fight to happen. If he hasn't done any of that to those fighters, the nonsense that people are avoiding him needs to stop

I don't know if you really struggle with comprehension or if you are just looking for attention. I'll address this one more time. Try to read it slowly.......I'm done trying to explain myself to those who simply are just looking to argue rather than converse on the subject........Peace...... My response is in RED

I mention Cobbs because they both have history and Cobbs wouldn't step in the ring with him afraid to engage like Custio Clayton did last year.

P.S. Plus Cobbs does a lot of talking and I wouldn't mind him getting humbled a little bit round by round.....lol

More skilled? I don't know about that.... They have different skill sets and both do what they do pretty well. Vergil has speed, power, and ring IQ as much as Ennis.

I forgot about him. Honestly I've only seen him fight twice so I don't know much about him, but how he was able to wither the storm, he deserves a shot vs any of the top contenders.

P.S. I do think Ellis should have won on the cards though.....I didn't have Villa winning a round until maybe the 9th.

Ellis might be interesting, Ugas might be interesting. Those are the only ones I see that would be a good and fair step up and even then, only Ugas feels like he would be a natural evolution for Boots at this point - Ellis, I would like to see him fight Cobbs. That would be a good measure for where both guys are at.
A fight with Blair Cobbs isn't exactly a waste of time. It gives him an opponent that he has history with and someone who will actually engage with him. Plus, being that I feel Ennis wins that fight, I wouldn't mind somone humbling Cobbs a little. He likes to talk to hear himself talk.

Ugas is the new gatekeeper. He's older and flat foot. Never been an elite fighter, but good enough to challenge anyone in the division. It would give us a legit view of how good Ennis is, because he's not going to dance away from him like Karen did....and if he hits him with the same combinations that Karen landed, Ennis is going to really feel it.
