There were a little more opportunities for Vergil against McKinson but look at the vast difference in the ability to cut the ring off and break an mover down to the body. Ennis isn't that difficult to counter either,Dulorme,Lipinets and now Karen have shown he's not that difficult to time either.

The kids hype exceeded his abilities but this is will help him develop no doubt but the train did lose some steam last night.

    Ortiz > Ennis.....
I honestly thought boots did a good job at cutting off the ring. It’s weird to me if someone like boots fails to get a KO, the blame falls on him but the opponent gets no credit.

I must Watch the dulorme and lipinets fights because I don’t remember either of them landing any significant shot. Also, when a fighter has felt your power and knows you can’t hurt him, they’ll take more chances without being afraid of returning fire.

Spence landing the same punches means Boots doesn't see the 12th round.
Only a casual would think boots would face Spence or any of the top guys with the game game plan and aggression he had last night. Karen obviously lacked any type of firepower, hence the recklessness at times.

What have you seen in boots that lead you to believe he can fight elite competition on the backfoot? His defense looks great when he's fighting hopeless cherry picks, but he still gets hit with shots he shouldn't.

          Exactly.

That's what everyone else on NSB keeps ignoring - EVERYONE this guy has fought, lands on him.

          They don't have Spence's power.

Boots has to fix his defensive flaws. He's got to.

Besides, why is fighting on your backfoot a requirement to be great? Pacquiao never fought for n his backfoot, even when he was the much smaller man who while coming up in weight. Trinidad, Duran, Tyson— all of these all time greats, and much more, never fought on their backfoot.

It's not a requirement of being great, but he's not going to walk thru shots of Spence, Crawford, Jermell Charlo or other big punchers. The funny thing is I've been saying this for a while. Unlike others, I didn't jump on the bandwagon last night. I've been saying he loses to the elite guys right now. Use the goddamn search engine. The man is in his 7th year as a professional and they are already crowning him a pfp great and he has fought absolutely NO ONE. I'm going to keep giving this example: Randal Bailey... Randall bailey in the late 90s was tearing thru 140, even won a title, but as soon as he stepped up in competition, he started losing. He just wasn't that good against the top fighters. You guys constantly hype your favorite fighters knowing goddamn well they have accomplished nothing. I can see if I was talking this about Boots if he was just a pro at 4 years into his career, but this man is in his 7th year as a professional. He turned pro in 2016 and you groupies see absolutely nothing wrong with him fighting nobodies for damn near a decade.

again, different fighters require different game plans. Of course he can’t sit in the pocket and exchange with the elites. We’ve seen algieri had much more success vs. Spence than Karen had with boots last night. Same with Avanysian vs Bud. Doesn’t mean they’re not great anymore.

Btw, Randal Bailey only had a wicked right hand. Nothing else. He was never the talent that boots is now. Not even close. Jeff lacy would’ve been a better comparison lol.

Bailey by his 7th year as a pro fought better competition and started losing. I knew Jeff Lacy was overrated. i used to post on a forum Maxboxing and i was one of only 2 people that picked Calzagghe to beat Lacy easily. The way lacy looked against Omar Sheika, I knew he had no chance whatsoever against an infighter that threw a lot of punches. Let these guys step it up in competition before we crown them. That's all I'm asking.I actually see some people putting Boots in their top 10 pfp list and he has fought no one. Am I asking for too much in that guys like Ennis and Ortiz should at least face another top 10 ww before we crown them? (Ortiz is finally facing another top 10 ww soon)

It's very possible that Boots doesn't see the 12th round against Spence; Especially if he lands enough punches. However, remember that Errol doesn't have one punch game changing power. He tends to grind his opponents into submission with large volumes of punches.
