You said that Karen had but one game plan and that was to do whatever he needed to do to Keep "Boots" right in the center of the ring but what about winning the fight? Not one of the official three judges scored a single round for Chukhadzhian.

Also, you said that I wanted him to follow the script and get knockout out. Wrong! I just wanted him to follow the script in order to be competitive and win. While, we are cool and all and I like you as a solid poster but we are just going to have to agree to disagree on this one that's all.
Chukhadzhian WAS trying to win. He was landing on Boots's chin all night long, he didn't have the power. Just like Formella. It happens. But he damn sure was trying. Doing anything more than what he did would have meant him getting knocked out and you know it.

Boots was the aggressor. Judges score for the aggressor. Same reason Spence got 12-0 against Mikey despite not causing significant damage.

We need to stop criticizing fighters that follow their gameplan and fight smart while exposing 'eye test' fighters.

Why does Joshua get a pass for LITERALLY running away and not engaging Ruiz, but Chukhadzhian boxes circles while throwing and landing and gets criticized? Makes no sense.

Any of those fights is fine by me, hopefully we don't have to wait another 5 years.

Some of you are ridiculous... I am on the fence with Boots but his fight tonight was fine... He won, did not need a judge to cheat to do so, showed he could take shots... WHO has Spence and Crawford fought that is such a jump? Boots may have some polishing to do, but he fights to the level of his opponent and there was nothing that showed a substantial lack... You would think we were talking about Berlanga and whether he could fight Cotto back in the day lol! Crawford is more experienced for sure, but there is no great lacuna in the quality of opposition...

Its ridiculous... its karen's fault, no its Boot's fault. How about two guys fought well?

Clowns acting like Karen did not even try to fight when he landed more punches than Canelo did vs Bivol.

You say "he showed he could take shots" but the flip side of that coin could very well be "hes easily timed and countered by lesser opponents" could it not?? As short as the Dulorme fight was and as small as Lipinets is/was,they both countered Ennis fairly easily so it's same to assume after last nights,Ennis defense is suspect. How does he handle those same shots from the elite of the division like Spence,Crawdaddy and Ortiz?? I'd say nit too well if you ask me...

I don't think Boots looked bad he just had a good opponent in front of him that we didn't know about. If anything this type of fight showed he can go a solid 12 and maintain his work rate against a fighter with good footwork. He took some shots it's boxing it happens but he was never hurt and always returned a shot when he took one plus was much more active.

If he would've gone to the body a little more I think he could've stopped him but he won the fight decisively. With that being said after watching this I favor the champs over him and I think Ortiz would beat him too.

Considering the way Boots was not shakin (pardon the pun) by those shots last night, we do not know if he can take the shots of Crawford and Spence. We know he has a lot of weapons and his own power. I think Boots has a lot of looks. A fighter like Berlanga was a big puncher and when his power faultered it kind of exposed him. I think Boots is still figuring out if he wants to counter, go for heavy hands, etc. Mind you I am not saying Boots is some prodigy, just that the elite in the division is not so elite considering common opposition... I should qualify that though: This is a tough division and all the guys are generally solid, however the comparison of Boots to the opposition faced by Crawford and Spence IMO makes Boots a live dog. Even if he would have to tighten up his defense, or make a few other adjustments.

I agree. The Ukrainian reminded me of the Spaniard who schooled Teofimo Lopez last month. Pretty skilled, but modest power.

Great. I want to see it. Trinidad-Vargas is a classic.
