I hope they teach Villa how to setup his wicked left hand by using the jab. Still a lot of chance to improve. Fun fight. Congratulations!

People shouting robbery? When you hold for the back 1/2 of the fight, how are you expecting to win? I think Ellis is talented, but this was a lack luster performance and he did not deserve a win.

I had Villa winning 9-12. With 2 knockdowns in 12 that puts him down by one round. IOW if the judges gave him 1 round from 1-9…….
Wouldn’t call it a robbery anyway.

I look forward to the rematch! Either Villa will start sooner and wear down and stop Ellis or Ellis will not overexert and just box and move and fight a safety-first fight and hold off Villa. Really good fight and expect the same in a rematch. The other factor is the big layoff against a pressure fighter who fought recently is not a good choice.

What an epic backfire for Ellis. Ducked a Vergil Ortiz fight, put himself on the shelf over a year killing all the momentum he had years ago, got out his promotional contract still hasn't had a big fight, priced himself out a Boots fight that could of been today, took a low paying high risk fight banking on getting a bigger money payday with Boots in the future and now that's dead as he lost getting dropped multiple times.

Ellis has no one to blame but himself was in total control early in the fight then played it safe letting Villa back into the fight. Has no one to blame for his career just some really bad advice, whoever in his camp that told him it was a good idea turning down big fights hoping to back into bigger payday SMH

You are obviously biased, Villa was getting picked apart and tapped up for at least 8 or 9 rounds. Checlk compubov, it won't even be close. Ellis was frustrating him all night off the back foot, jabs, hooks, and straight rights.

That was no robbery. Villa was coming on strong the last 4 rounds at least. Questionable? Maybe but not a robbery.
