Get active boots!! I don’t see his opposition getting any better especially if n when he gets to the top. Haymon won’t match his guys vs him. Almost as if they gotta get another promoter to get that. Leave AL. But with showtime backing boots that may help get him some meaningful fights, which he needs or get new management

it's not. Back when there was only one title, a lot of fighters had 50 + fights before they fought for a title. It's rare today because there are 4-6 titles per weight class.

Still many fans are not buying into the hype, and justifiably so. They wait so long just to see him back with a guy nobody has even heard of. You'd wonder what his team was doing during all those long months of inactivity. It's senseless to wait for a Spence fight without a meaningful plan B. The frustrating part is there are Stanionis-level available for him like Kavliauskas, Butaev, Crowley, guys with zero issues fighting on PBC platform.

Andrade is a prime example that passivity doesn't work for skilled AA fighters. You have to be a bit brash or at least a bit ****y.

I would channel my inner Clubber Lang to get these boys to fight.

SRL was 25 when he fought 22-yr old Tommy Hearns. Both were stars who became superstars and legends. Crawford and Spence aren't half the stars being ten years older. They both are a hell of a lot wealthier though, so its hard to malign their motivations. Ortiz seems to want to be an old-time fighter who takes risks to achieve glory. Not yet sure what to think about Ennis. He seems overly quiet and patient, but he's at the peak of his powers right now.

neither boots or Ortiz, in their 6 years as a pro, has fought a top 10 welterweight. I will give Ortiz credit for the Stannios fight, but this is his 7th year as a pro. 7 goddamn years as a pro before he fought another top 10 WW. And Boots still haven't fought another top 10 opponent yet.

Fair point, still for a fighter with his talent his team have been rather careful with him

Their plan Bs are Karen types. I don't think they'll risk fighting guys even a step riskier. They're not even trying. He won't file a petition for his WBO mandatory spot for the Crawford fight. They won't try guys that are completely available and with zero promotional issues like Ugas, Crowley, Kavaliauskas, Butaev, Ellis... After the Karen fight, then what? Play a long waiting game again?

Sometimes, when I like a fighter I need to see things like this in print to remind me that "talented" and "entertaining" as well as "likable" does NOT mean "accomplished". That is sobering. Sure, boxing politics is an excuse, but not at this stage of these talented fighters careers.

Big names won't come if you're too quiet.
