Comments Thread For: Roy Jones Advises Joshua To Avoid Scenario of Facing Wilder in Next Fight

Roy right about tuneups however Roy as a trainer may not work, because he’s going to make a guy who doesn’t have his skill set try and fight like he did. Roy hasn’t been good as a trainer however he does dissect fighters correctly and assess them properly. Roy maybe should seek adviser roll instead of trainer, I think he would be more comfortable and successful.Comment

After all the messing around , it's Plain to see that Wilder detests Hearn and the only way this could be made is for Wilder to do the deal to spite Hearn with a vicious KO that Eddie and Hearn Sr. (by his own admission) have been trying to avoid for years ....seem Hearn is having trouble controlling Lawrence Okolie !Comment

Except Jones states Joshua probably wins that fight but a tune up fight is the best option to secure a win . The only thing he states is you need to be mistake proof against Wilder but that’s not really based on much considering Wilder has only fought two guys that actually thought they would win , Fury and Ortiz and we know how the Fury fights turned out and how lucky he got in the first Ortiz fight .Comment

Jones needs to change his tune if he's any chance of being the next Joshua trainer for the chop.....work with the team like; Joshua will fight Wilder some where down the line , like was said by the team five years ago....Comment

I don’t think they will ever fight due to Joshua’s promoter who will try to exert dominance over wilder’s career and will demand the fight be on dazn in the usa. Politics will kill this fight from ever being made unless Hearn realises that showtime or FOX will want the PPV rights. No use even talking about it with hearn’s history with trying to control wilder
FOX is pulling out of boxing completely at years end anyways so that leaves nearly defunct Showtime. Going to be interesting to see what P+ decides to do with that.Last edited by Sctrojan; 12-26-2022, 04:15 PM.Comment

That's the difference between a good fighter and a all time great fighter, an all time great like Ali and Lewis runs towards a challenge, they don't try to avoid it.Comment

No kidding. Wilder has found a way to land clean in every fight, even the ones he lost. Fury has a legendary chin, and AJ looks like he's got a pretty suspect one. He could be winning the whole fight and then get knocked clean out. Wilder isn't the best technical boxer but he's got fight changing power.Comment
