Wilder has been under Shelly Finkel's thumb for years now. Hearn knows full well that Deontay will only fight AJ if Finkel gives him permission to do it.

Roy right about tuneups however Roy as a trainer may not work, because he’s going to make a guy who doesn’t have his skill set try and fight like he did. Roy hasn’t been good as a trainer however he does dissect fighters correctly and assess them properly. Roy maybe should seek adviser roll instead of trainer, I think he would be more comfortable and successful.

Yep, Boxxer seems to have gleefully acquired a world champion

The only thing he states is you need to be mistake proof against Wilder but that’s not really based on much considering Wilder has only fought two guys that actually thought they would win , Fury and Ortiz and we know how the Fury fights turned out and how lucky he got in the first Ortiz fight .
Joshua wasn't 'mistake proof' four times against Ruiz , once would be enough against Wilder!

What else would you expect Jones to say when he’s vying to be his head trainer? I think he’s going to lose regardless? And from what we’ve seen of Aj recently, there’s not much to think he’s going into the fight with as much a will to win as Ortiz or Fury did. He’s not built like they are mentally. He’s fragile.

Jones needs to change his tune if he's any chance of being the next Joshua trainer for the chop.....work with the team like; Joshua will fight Wilder some where down the line , like was said by the team five years ago....

Then Finkle can keep Wilder on Showtime making $900K purses and selling 50k ppv's like they did with Helenius. Let's not act obtuse on the reason why Finkle is now begging for this fight $$$. Even after back to back loses, with or without Wilder,AJ still sells out Wembley. Wilder/Finkle would be wise to know thier place come negotiations.

FOX is pulling out of boxing completely at years end anyways so that leaves nearly defunct Showtime. Going to be interesting to see what P+ decides to do with that.

That's the difference between a good fighter and a all time great fighter, an all time great like Ali and Lewis runs towards a challenge, they don't try to avoid it.

No kidding. Wilder has found a way to land clean in every fight, even the ones he lost. Fury has a legendary chin, and AJ looks like he's got a pretty suspect one. He could be winning the whole fight and then get knocked clean out. Wilder isn't the best technical boxer but he's got fight changing power.
