The original excuse was that the purse split wasn't fair. But everyone criticised him for that, so now he says it's because of the promotional divide. If the fight was never going to happen anyway regardless of the pay involved, why even complain about the purse split? It's all just PR to make this swerve look less embarrassing.

It does make sense for Ramirez going with TR's prospect with Teo Lopez, which is a far bigger draw than Prograis, who is with a competing promoter. That alone would is enough red flag and almost just a waste of time. I wouldn't worry about it if I were Ramirez.Comment

His point is 1. TR is unwilling to Co-promote with Probellum. And 2. He has a purse minimum with Top Rank (around 1.5mil I believe is the number). And as it stands he can’t get Top Rank & ESPN to put in the necessary money to meet that minimum within that 35%. His other issue is that Prograis’ side has also not presented any pot/offer. So he’d be agreeing to 35% of god knows what, a complete mystery. Ramirez notes that if Prograis offers him just 1mil, he’ll accept. The original excuse was that the purse split wasn't fair. So he wants Regis to raise the split, so Top Rank/ESPN can bid, and if anyone outbids them, that’s fine too, because it will be exceeding his minimum.
But basically. If he’s going to be earning more, guaranteed, vs Commey etc on Top Rank, then he’ll stay there.Last edited by SplitSecond; 12-25-2022, 04:11 PM.Comment

Crazy! His guarantee is 1,5 mil while Regis just won the belt for 1,320 mil.
