uh ward clearly ducked a lot of people. they literally litigated this in court and the truth came out. hbo wanted him to fight certain guys and on that list were ggg, bute, froch rematch. ward said i dont have to fight who you want, i want to figth dmitri sartison. wards own promoter said this under oath and won the case because ward was claiming he couldnt get any fights but in reality he couldn't get the fights he wanted aka the easy ones. thats the whole reason hbo kicked ward off the network. now no one is going to kick canelo off their network because he simply generates too much money while ward does not. thats the only real difference. ward was forced to take on kovalev because he was in no mans land fighting on BET and the only way back on was to agree to fight kov. ward wanted the easy path after the super six(which was setup in his favor btw) but he wasnt able to get it. canelo knows he has the easy path and nothing can derail him. he has too much power.
