Kinchen maybe. I don’t know Barkley’s resume intrinsically tbh but I have seen most of his bigger fights. I don’t hold that against Barkley, you could make a similar claim about a lot of fighters from that era. What was John Mugabi’s best win for example? Regardless, we respect his level based on what he did against Hagler. I think we have to respect Barkley based on what he did against Hearns. His performance against Nunn was good too, I’m not sure of your thoughts on Nunn but I thought he was an elite fighter in his day.

I do believe he crashed the weight for the Roy fight, I know it’s a convenient excuse but I do think Toney looked sluggish/flat that night. Roy beats him regardless though.
Don't rate Nunn too highly, far from elite IMO. Good, slippery fighter, very flawed and very overrated and those flaws came to the surface very quickly. Barkley gave Nunn a good fight for sure but like basically all of his big fights, he lost.

John Mugabi and Iran Barkley are similar level of fighters I agree. Both average. It's funny you mention Mugabi because to this day I'm still baffled as to how he made it into the HOF.

You're saying he crashed the weight with Jones but what's your basis for that? He'd fought a few months prior, just like he did with Barkley.

Nunn was a guy that felt had all the tools to be a real great fighter. Unfortunately lack of discipline and personal problems got in the way and not just ruined his career but his life tbh.

I agree he shouldn’t be in the HOF, both good fighters though, they were definitely better than average for me.

Just going off Toney’s own account. I do believe him when he says he was drained for the Jones Jr fight.

Nah I never saw that. I saw the flaws early. He was a good fighter but to me it was always going one way.

Toney has excuses for all his loss's. I don't take a single one of them seriously.
