I think it's a foregone conclusion. Fans expect to see these same young inactive guys fighting in their 40's. They'll beg for fights in which the pay is not even enough to cover training. It will be too late to recover what they wasted in their primes.

Funny part in this sport is they're not even held accountable for taking layoffs way too long. When they come back fans would say, "Oh he's rusty, he needs a tuneup." He's got instant excuse if he doesn't perform up to par, or loses. It's as if it's someone's fault he took long layoff.

They will hold themselves accountable in their 40s. It will be too late by then.

Probably almost all of them. Some have retired without official announcement like LSC, Berto, Thurman, etc.

But I think fans have begun acclimating to it. We don't see anyone making a fuss about it. It has become normalized. Would I expect Adames, for example, to have another fight before the end of the year? Nah.

To me I don't have to see big fights being made. It's preferable to see boxers fighting on a regular basis. Twice a year is not asking for too much. One fight a year is just too hard to stomach.

I'll be watching Anderson vs Martin tonight, for example. It's not a big fight, but it still makes me curious about the outcome. The guy who KD'd Tzsyu on a PBC card where is he? He can fight Trout, Fundora, Williams, Hurd, Harrison, even Adames for stay busy fights.

You're referring to Terrell Gausha. He did better than Harrison and Ocampo combined.
His last fight was on an untelevised Figueroa/Magsayo undercard against a guy named, Brandyn Lynch,
who got knocked down 3x and fight was waived in 9th for a KO win. That was last March 04, 2023.

He already fought Trout and I don't remember the outcome.

Exactly my point. PBC is abound with 154-160 fighters, with the addition of Fundora, Mendoza, Resendiz, Tzsyu. They won't ran out of fights if only they make these guys active.

They have the largest stable, so they'll be the first to get noticed, like it or not.
