To be fair. Fighters have always been fighting into their 40s.

Pretty much all of them are part-timers now. Haven't seen any one of them complain, except probably Broner.

yes they have, but not performing at a high rate as they are now in their mid to late 30s and 40s. . The same with the NBA. Back when the seasons were condensed and they played 5 days a week, the average age of retirement was early 30s. Now they stretch the season out so long that players complain or "rest" on back to back games. It's normal to see a player playing in his late 30s and early 40s lol. And to be fair as well, my own team, the Spurs, started that resting bullshyt.

I am far more interested in long reigns in a single division than jumping around picking off weak beltholders.

Fans don't help. "There are too many belts but wait, my favourite fighter holds the WBOgus so let's encourage a four belt era." Failing to distinguish titleholders from champions. Apologising for certain fighters and promoters.

The boxing media landscape is trash also meaning a lack of accountability for power brokers. Thomas Hauser is about the only investigative writer we have and he's getting old. Dan Rafael is okay but is far too in love with the sanctioning bodies and their shiny belts. The rest consists primarily of cretins with a smartphone and YouTube channel regurgitating clickbait.
Add in that Leo Santa Cruz and Adrien Broner are f*kin 4 division champs due to all of these goddamn belts and division hopping. 40 years from now, some idiot is going to be googling those guys thinking they were great fighters. And trust me, nothing pains me more in discussing boxing than having to state that Broner and Cruz are 4 division champs.

Santa Cruz and Broner are self-entitled jokers.

Strange part in this sport is perennial inactivity is not even a factor in getting legacy awards like HOF, etc.

Welcome to CORPORATE BOXING yak. I wish normal corporations would work their people like professional boxers.

Any ripple movement in the vast ocean of inactivity in boxing yet? Many of them are way overdue with their next fight.

I can't see how showtime calls tank a multiple division champion when the only real championship he won was the ibf , everything else secondary. Well maybe Santa's legit wba 130 belt I think I don't even remember.
