The real question is has Stephen Espinoza, Al Haymon, Showtime and the PBC have given up on Jermall Charlo and I believe the answer is yes. The man hasn't fought and has been inactive for almost two years now with no opponent in sight.Comment

I really don't know what to make of Jermall Charlo. He's a conglomeration of confusing signals that don't make much sense.
He makes stuff up as he goes depending on what people around him want to hear, what his present mood is, what have you.
Last year September, he and Shields came out calling out Golovkin for a title unification. Everyone knows it's just for display purposes. Recently he confronted Bivol and nobody knows what division he's challenging him for/with. SMH, where is the personal issue pictured in between such instances? Is he able to come back or not? What's all these fake exhibitions all about?

WBC is wasting too much time letting one very inactive guy, who seemed to have developed fear of going back in the ring, hold on to a title without defending it. Announcing he'll be back in June without mentioning an opponent and whether June is the date of the fight, or start of training, and so on, is not clear. Actual ring return could extend much longer... So I don't know why this is being tolerated. Either take mandatory defenses ASAP or vacate and stop wasting everyone's time.Last edited by tomhawq; 02-13-2023, 06:44 PM.Comment
