I was really surprised Isaac didn’t want to at least give it a shot!

To my eyes, Isaac gave Tank a relatively tough fight, and Stevenson is unproven at the weight.

Why not train hard and roll the dice and try to beat the hell out of Shakur? I don’t get it.

Zepeda got paid $350k for the JoJo Diaz fight.

So Bob Arum and Top Stank have to stop being cheap if they want him for Shakur Stevenson.

I agree. That sounds very logical and makes a lot of sense. You are right. Top rank is cheap. If they really wanted the fight badly enough then they could have easily gone to ESPN to ask for more money. Well at least to me; It sounds like they are grooming Shakur Stevenson for the winner of the Haney/Loma fight.

"The search then led to Zepeda, who was fresh off a dominant twelve-round win over former IBF 130-pound titlist Joseph ‘JoJo’ Diaz on October 29 in San Diego. The unbeaten Mexican insisted through social media that he was eager to face Stevenson, going as far as to demand that the former two-division champ send a contract to sign. Stevenson’s team immediately called the bluff, after which point it was learned that Golden Boy has other—though undisclosed—immediate plans for its rising lightweight contender."

FIghters need to stay away from making statements on Social Media b4 they talk to their promoters! Now Zepeda looks even worse! Can't imagine what Cruz or Zepeda have that's better than fighting Stevenson in a WBC eliminator? Maybe they are going to fight each other? That would be very good, but not better than fighting Shakur Stevenson! Shakur got these cats SHOOK!!!

What's the point of having rankings if fights are just declined?
Refusal to move forward should result in loss of top ten ranking, give the slits to guys that actually want to fight.

It's one thing to get beat by Canelo and get paid handsomely for it and another to get embarrassed by Shakur and get paid relative peanuts.

Prograis? That’s two weight classes up - no chance that’s his next fight. Probably the one person at 130-140 he’d definitely get beat by.

Well they are wrong because for the past few fights Shakur has been settling down on his punches more for power. If Isaac Cruz or William Zepeda don't won't that smoke with Shakur Stevenson then perhaps they should fight each other instead.
That's why they're afraid. He's versatile.....and can beat opponents in so many different ways.

I’m not as high on Zepeda as most, but how is calling out a undefeated contender ranked top 10 in the division & by all sanctioning bodies for your first fight in the division bad?
