Will Ortiz vs Stanionis REALLY happen?

As I am sure you know by now, both Ortiz and Stanionis' teams did not reach an agreement in negotiations.

Now it is going to purse bid. Do you think this fight REALLY happens?

Something tells me Ortiz's handlers aren't so excited about this risky matchup.

    What are your thoughts?

Tough to say. They have high standing in the alphabet realm and the backing to make things happen. Either they fight each other or wait for their shot or even worse have to deal with Ennis.

If Spence moves up and doesn't face Crawford that division will be wide open again like the 140 division.

Yeah, I mean, the whole Spence Bud drama seems to delay the others who are in line.
I hope either make their move already.

What do you mean not excited? It was Ortiz who petitioned the WBA for this fight.

Vergil Ortiz Petitions WBA To Have Mandatory Status Enforced Against Eimantas Stanionis

There was a point when Vergil Ortiz Jr. was willing to remain active while waiting for a title shot or at least a big fight. The unbeaten welterweight contender now aims for those worlds to collide. A petition has been filed with the WBA by Ortiz, who seeks to have his mandatory challenger title status enforced in a

WBA is late in enforcing this fight. Nobody knows what the delay is all about. Maybe because Stanionis fights on PBC platform.

I don't see it a a very risky matchup for Ortiz. Stanionis is a pretty good fighter but he hasn't got much pop and his game plan seems to be to take some to give many. Against a power hitter like Ortiz, he'd probably get stopped inside of 6.

I said Ortiz's HANDLERS, not Ortiz himself.
I am referring more to Oscar de la Hoya man. Look how he is leading his fighters' careers like Zurdo and Jaime.

It can be, but I really hope this fight happens man.
                It's a great matchup.

Why would Ortizs handlers be weary of this fight for Ortiz. Hrs fought mean machine,a very awkward/tricky southpaw spoiler in McKinson and had him ready to face Avanesyan before he pulled out? Stanionis is on par with all 3 of those guys, possibly a step below Kava so I doubt Ortiz has any concern fighting Stan. The split/payout will be a hurdle though and could derail the fight unfortunately.

I think it is quite risky for both honestly.
That Mckinson fight was a nice fight for Ortiz too.
But all in all I hope these two get it on
