Comments Thread For: Daniel Dubois: Kevin Lerena Caught Me and I Felt Like My Knee Went

the main sanctioning body has a three knockdown rule, which means that if a fighter is knocked down three times in a round, the contest will automatically end via TKO.
“It is critical to note that in fights governed by WBA rules, three (3) knockdowns in the same round automatically end the fight by TKO. Additionally, WBA rules state that the bell cannot save the fighter in ANY round,” reads the WBA Referee Handbook.
However, the British Boxing Board of Control does not allow the rule in fights under their au****es, allowing Dubois to launch his fiery comeback. a british flightComment

Dubois is an interesting guy, seems to show that he looks for ways out when things get a little tough/he gets touched with something of consequence, guess as they say once a quitter always a quitter...
Lerena must be really kicking himself for letting a golden opportunity go like that UNLESS someone came to his corner between rounds and said something to convince him to let him off the hook.
I was watching BKFC at time as Chocolatito vs Estrada and a guys knee went and he kept getting up over and over again and wasn't eager to "quit", the ref had to stop it but this guy came into the fight with a knee brace...Last edited by Boro; 12-04-2022, 09:57 AM.Comment

Dubois got hurt, came back and won the fight. Much to the same way Tyson Fury has got credit for doing etc.
Those are the positives to take from the fight. I have noticed that Dubois has dropped in weight to 240 pounds.
Notice how these super heavyweights, when they drop weight seem to not be as durable initially. Or it effects their game in different ways.
Anthony Joshua speed, punching power, endurance gets progressively worst when he gets around 240 to sub 240 pounds.
In the rematch vs Usyk? Usyk could no longer really hurt him, and Joshua also managed the pace of the fight better.

Fury was ****** about and decked early in his career, in fact? He is still getting ****** about and decked now when he actually fights at world level.

I thought the same thing. Letena was still on his feet & was hit after the bell. He should have been given the minute to recover. Maybe he gets KO’d the next round but after that 1st rd he deserved the benefit of the doubt. Foster up to his usual BS. Foster, O’ Connor & Ian John Lewis are possible the worst 3 refs in the sport. To be fair every ref has a bad night or calls for an early stoppage but those 3 constantly do it. I think I have seen O’Connor ref one good HW fight & no surprise it was between 2 Brits (Chisora/Whye)…
Dubois is a perfect opponent for AJ.Comment

Lol this match was a joke, Larena could finish ddd at any moment and he didn't. Plus, If the 3 ko rule had been there, ddd would have been out.Comment
