And how did he do that? By BOXING him, Floyd's SPECIALTY.

Right after this, Floyd IGNORES the voice of the public and fights the LESSER of the two opponents. It's a DUCK, and one that Floyd made blatantly obvious by his own poll and actions.
Khan hadn't done sh** at 147 and was coming off losses in his last two meaningful fights.

Maidana on the other hand had knocked out Lopez and was coming off a big upset win over Broner which was actually for a Welterweight title as well.

Maidana was much more deserving than Khan in 2014.

Amir is straight trash and has a glass chin. Why would mayweather duck him? All he has is is speed, which mayweather excels in as well. His boxing IQ and durability are garbage. He makes a lot of mistakes. He is food for mayweather. Mayweather never took him seriously at all and brushed him aside because he was clout chasing like a puppy and amir doesn't have a huge fanbase where mayweather takes notice.

He went (against) that very Poll and people's choice and went on to fight Marcos Maidana instead clearly going against his word and people's choice??

The Worst part is that Mayweather received little to no backlash from the American media as Khan was the British fighter. Mayweather got away with fighting a limited slower opponent when clearly real fans know that Khan with his speed would have been the more challenging stylistic fight for Mayweather.

Mayweather throughout his career has fought slower sluggish opponents apart from Zab Juddah a fight where he struggled massively agaisnt Speed, and only fought Manny Pacquiao when Pacquiao was at the near end of his career.

Lets make no mistake about it , Mayweather is a great champion fighter and has a proven legacy but that Poll thing was a true embarrassment going against his word and a slap on the face of BOXING FANS, I don't understand why people chose to ignore this part???

PS: Mods can you please add a poll to this one?
          1)Yes, he ducked Amir Khan.
2)No he did not duck Amir Khan, Maidana was the better choice.
Kahn is a joke. Any REAL fighter whips him EASILY.

Your HERO Mayweather never fought a fast fighter apart from Judah in his LIFE.! Zab Judah chinned him in early rounds and Khan's speed at the time would have given him fits.

Mayweather built his WHOLE RESUME fighting SLOW SLUGGING COME FORWARD BRAWLERS/PUNCHERS.

I actually agree with you that Maidana was the more deserving fighter at the time as he was coming of a really big win at the time against Broner..

I just think that it was the easier fight for Mayweather, I mean Mayweather never really fought a fast fighter in his entire career apart from Judah, a fight where his performance was less than impressive. Could it be a reason Mayweather avoided prime Pac and possibly (Amir Khan) due to their fast hands and feet?

Khan is not the most impressive fighter technically speaking, but he had the speed to trouble Floyd , and always a tougher fight for Floyd than any of his other possible opponents.

I agree Khan poses more stylistic problems. I said in my OP I don’t think Floyd particularly fancied having to chase or walk fighters down in his late 30’s. At that stage of his career, he was much more comfortable having guys come to him.

With that being said though, I would confidently predict Mayweather would have beaten Khan. Khan would have given him problems early but Khan is quite repetitive with his shots. It’s generally 1-2, 1-2-1, all straight shots with maybe a left hook or uppercut thrown in occasionally. After 4 or 5 rounds Floyd would work him out and start timing him with counters. I think he eventually stops him too.

Floyd would time Khan like a Rolex watch, its comical the sht that gets said in here, every time Khan was stopped he was timed by much slower fighters than Mayweather did that drift on by your thought process lol.

Mayweather wasn't just fast his timing was next level, Khan would do his normal amateur 3-4 round pitter patter and then he would be getting broken down and by round 6 he is on his way out the door, lots of people in here have no clue about Mayweather's ability to dissect an opponent because you're to busy trying to hate on him you can never digest his boxing.

Other than speed, Khan was never anything special. He only got hype behind him because he won an Olympic medal at a time when British boxing was at an all-time low point, after Lewis retired and Hamed got spanked by Barrera.

Khan came up short every time he fought someone who wasn't either past their prime, or feather-fisted. Stop hyping mediocre fighters.

No version of Pacquiao beat Floyd, IMO. Pacquiao has no jab and can't cut off the ring.
