    No he didn’t.

Khan didn’t fit the profile. Look at Floyd’s later opponents, except Berto which was a retirement fight, he always picked guys with a belt or coming off a major win, that was his big selling point his opponents

Ortiz was champ, had beaten an undefeated Berto just before.

Maidana beat Broner and was champ

Robert Guerrero put himself in a mandatory position, that’s a selling point for Floyd to use.

    Cotto was champ

    Canelo was WBC champ

    Manny was Manny

Mosley had just beaten the piss out of Margarito

What did Khan do? He held no belts at welterweight, wouldn’t fight anyone to get in a mando position and never beat any top fighters at 147 to force the fight. He simply didn’t fit the profile for Floyd opponent at the time. They all followed a similar pattern. Khan was just hanging around , being inactive and desperate to be picked.

I do think Floyd never really fancied the Khan fight though tbf. I think Mayweather would have beat Khan but I don’t think Floyd fancied having to chase Khan, walk him down etc, at that stage of his career Floyd was much more comfortable boxing off the back foot against pressure fighters. I don’t think he felt the reward was high enough to step out of his comfort zone against Khan. Had it happened I’d have picked Mayweather by TKO.
I COMPLETELY disagree. Khan beat Maidana. So Floyd chose to avoid the guy who beat the opponent he wanted to fight. Clearly the more difficult fight was Khan. Then on top of that, you had an OLD, OVER-THE-HILL, PAST-IT, Erik Morales MOVE UP IN WEIGHT and KICK THE CRAP OUT OF MAIDANA. He lost the fight but it was a moral victory for Morales. And how did he do that? By BOXING him, Floyd's SPECIALTY.

Right after this, Floyd IGNORES the voice of the public and fights the LESSER of the two opponents. It's a DUCK, and one that Floyd made blatantly obvious by his own poll and actions.

        - - Cotto took the fight on 2 weeks notice to give l'l floydy a payday before his Big House incarceration and beat up the l'l feller to no acclaim.

Most every l'l floydy fight for umpteen of his latter years was TBA where nobody had time for a training camp. Clearest duck of not only Khan, but l'l floydy own fans that he created the poll for.

Amir Khan is a very fast and skilled boxer. He would have given Floyd Mayweather a lot of trouble because of his speed and movement. Mayweather is a great boxer, but he is not as fast as Khan. Khan would have hit Mayweather with a lot of punches, but Mayweather would have eventually figured him out and won the fight.

You can’t duck Khan. That’s impossible.

If Floyd had fought Khan, it would have been called one of his many “cherrypicks”.

The BS spin in this forum is unreal.

there were actually 4 polls and Maidana won 3 of them and was up in that one until Khan had all his social media followers troll the polls...how do you duck a non champ by fighting a champ?

Khan has never won a decent fight at 147.

What did he do to deserve a Mayweather payday?

Could Floyd have fought him? Yeah

Is it ducking if you don't fight a guy who's as flawed as Khan is and who lost just about every big fight he had?

                  I don't think so.
