Absolutely Floyd ducked Khan. People had grown tired of Floyd cherrypicking the same short, short armed, flat footed, come forward fighters. At least with Khan a) the fight would be highly entertaining b) Floyd would have to think fast and c)Khan is gonna land all the way even in defeat.

Floyd just wanted easy fights man its a reason why Larry Big Dunn and Iron Dan have 200,000 posts combined because their life is defending Floyd's blatant cherrypicks.
Floyd EASILY beat your hero (Pac) and you ain’t over it yet. Stay salty…….

He went (against) that very Poll and people's choice and went on to fight Marcos Maidana instead clearly going against his word and people's choice??

The Worst part is that Mayweather received little to no backlash from the American media as Khan was the British fighter. Mayweather got away with fighting a limited slower opponent when clearly real fans know that Khan with his speed would have been the more challenging stylistic fight for Mayweather.

Mayweather throughout his career has fought slower sluggish opponents apart from Zab Juddah a fight where he struggled massively agaisnt Speed, and only fought Manny Pacquiao when Pacquiao was at the near end of his career.

Lets make no mistake about it , Mayweather is a great champion fighter and has a proven legacy but that Poll thing was a true embarrassment going against his word and a slap on the face of BOXING FANS, I don't understand why people chose to ignore this part???

PS: Mods can you please add a poll to this one?
        1)Yes, he ducked Amir Khan.
2)No he did not duck Amir Khan, Maidana was the better choice.

wish the fight happened but it didnt.

khan was with a different promoter. that is the most likely reason it didnt get made

Floyd Mayweather Jr. gave himself a 37th birthday present on Monday: an opponent. The pound-for-pound king announced on Twitter that will next fight fellow welterweight titleholder Marcos Maidana on May 3.

in this article it says maidana won many other polls including ESPN and ring.tv by even bigger margins than the poll khan won and with more American fan votes, which I'm sure played a part.

i think the second he battered Broner in entertaining fashion he got the fight, khan would have got the fight if the Broner upset didn't happen.

Amir Khan tops Manny Pacquiao Twitter poll as Pacman asks fans to find next opponent... putting a spanner in works of Kell Brook bout
                • Manny Pacquiao asked his Twitter followers to help find his next opponent
                • The eight-division world champion had four names in his poll including Khan
                • Khan came top of the poll, ahead of Kell Brook, with 48 per cent of the vote
                • It had been expected that the 38-year-old would fight Jeff Horn in Australia
                • That could still happen as there are many obstacles in the way of a Khan fight

You're one of those people who finds it impossible to criticise Mayweather in even the most mild of terms so it's pointless discussing this with you "just the 'facts'(angry opinions)".

I thought I read about Floyd asking Khan not to retire yet some months ago.

But Khan has lost all interest and he was bitter about it, "I begged for that fight for years....it didn't happen."
