Surely he wasn't a 100% when he had his knee braces on, but he was doing just fine then because he was winning. Been saying for awhile now that I think we've seen the best of Canelo. He's slowly breaking down. I still think he needs to be monitored post-surgery because if there's anytime for substances to be put into his body, it would be now.

Nelo is considered the best fighter in the world as he fought everyone or at least his resume is better than just about everyone. But great fighters only can go to the well so many times there isnt a limitless amount of great wins. Bivol might be a step too far. But we will see. Rematches dont go the same way as first fight. Even if you lose by ko in firsst fight you can win rematch if given chance. SO if you lose on points in first fight you certainly can win rematch on points yourself. Look at Lennox LEwis koing rahman and McCall, and Joe louis koing schmelling

Canelo will never beat Bivol with his lead feet. Canelo has a short reach and short height for 175, even for 168 and 160 he has short reach and height. Against less skilled fighters he can over come it and shoot his way inside but Bivol is larger, very quick, very skilled and has excellent stamina. Its too much for canelo.

Only way a smaller guy would have a chance with Bivol is with faster feet. Look at short armed guys, Mike Tyson, Hatton, Pacquaio, Hamed, all of those guys had quick feet to close the distance and get in and out of range. Canelo walks guys down and it works against lesser skilled guys but Bivol has too good control of the distance. Bivol is a level above your Plant or Saunders. Bivol has an easy night with everyone Canelo fought at 168-175.

In one or two more rounds, Canelo would have been staggering and incoherent from exhaustion. He simply doesn’t have the chromosomes for endurance that Bivol has. He’s like a 100-meters runner competing in the 10k… just ain’t got a chance. If Canelo goes for an early knockout, that looks to me like his only avenue for a possible victory.

Canelo isn't slipping. He's just not used to dragging around that much extra weight and having the extra muscle burn through his gas tank so much faster than he's used to. It takes a year to get used to more weight. You see that every time someone small moves up above their natural weight class. Usyk looked slow and slipping in his first fights at heavyweight, but after he had time to adjust to his new weight, he was able to perform.

Canelo has several issues. Unless his tune-up fight is at 175, he's going to gas and be slow again in the next fight too. He could probably stand to spend all his time at altitude too, just to bring the best version of himself.

The next problem is that he's fighting a superb defensive fighter, and it doesn't look like he's learned from his first fight if he thinks he was competitive. Maybe he can win with some corrupt judging, but I don't see him knocking Bivol out and he's going to have a tough time winning rounds because Bivol is faster than him.

Honestly, Bivol is kinda like a bigger version of Shakur Stevenson in terms of defensive skills, but without the mouth, in all senses of the word. It's going to be tough to beat Bivol on points.

Honestly do not think Canelo in the ring is much different fighting at 168 or 175. The difference is at the weigh-in. He’s going to about 180 either way.

Bivol is just a lot better than anyone Canelo faced or is likely to face at 168.

1 or 2 more rounds? Canelo lost all 12 rounds. A Canelo apologist might be able to give him two rounds. This guy Canelo man, I’ve never seen a more disillusioned fighter, babied by the judging system. He legit lost every round. Crazy

He is coming back for seconds that's putting his money where his mouth is, fighters do have issues and he looked in my eyes to be labouring at 175 Ive never seen him run so hot so quickly, he had no game plan only walking forward with single-shots hitting arms, there is definitely room for improvement, the loss may rewire his brain into a hungry fighter again, he doesn't even have to win to come much better which proves what he saying is right, I thought it was the worst Canelo to box, I don't think it was because of Bivol if Canelo comes prepared and just boxes the best he can he will do a lot better than the first fight even on losing.

In my eyes, Bivol is a LHW Andrade very hard to beat over the distance but nothing special and he is in a soft weight class.
