I think there's more hype than substance around Shakur too. That's not to say he's not a good boxer, it's more that I don't think he's this guy destined for the #1 P4P position. If manages to make it tat number one spot, it just means he avoided a lot of guys.

Who's Stevenson going to fight in the interim then? He has to fight someone coming up here. I'd like to see him fight Ortiz, myself. Strangely, Ortiz's name is mysteriously absent from the conversation. He mentions Kambosos but not Ortiz. That says something

          I don't care about P4P. It's a personal opinion. Garbage concept, period.

The fact is Shakur hasn't done anything at 135 at all. So, I don't understand what all this noise is about. And, at 130, the best name he beat is Valdez, a completely broken down, face first fighter.

A really good fight to get Shakur's feet wet at 135. Not that dangerous though, I don't think. Zepeda probably can't hurt Shakur, he's mostly about overwhelming volume not overwhelming power.

Gotta do something in the mean time. He can't guarantee the winner regardless.

Yeah. Valdez was just the perfect style for Shakur. The victory was never in question. And Herring was a beaten man going into the ring. Plus, Herring can't fight southpaws for some reason. It's kind of funny that not only is a southpaw kryptonite for most orthodox fighters but for most southpaws too. Herring walked into Shakur's left hand all night long. He deservedly fired Bomac.

Anyway, I wanted to ask: What do you think about Tank leaving Floyd and Ellerbe? For me, it's the best news I've heard in awhile.

It's been long overdue, to be honest. Floyd is only interested in himself and Ellerbe isn't a good promoter. Maybe it's better to leave Haymon, too, and work with other promoters, like Hearn and Oscar, or whomever can offer him the most money, on a fight by fight basis.

I doubt Bob will risk Ortiz losing twice in a row.
would love to see it though.
Also love to see Ortiz against Haney.

So this Zepeda response to Shakur's call out is quick. Only took less than a day, in my estimation.

Today, Stevenson called his bluff and sent an offer.

We should be expecting Zepeda's response at this moment.

Let's hope they're not pulling the Morrell/Ronnie Shields card.
