Would be great if the fight actually happened in December or January, not sure if the interaction between Eimantas Stanionis and manager Rick Mirigian in a twitter section from Wednesday means anything but it seems like they knew the news would come out soon so perhaps it is in the works.

    Rick-Stanionis Comment Section.jpg

Rewatching his bout against Butaev, not sure what Stanionis brings to the table, he has good fundamentals and sufficient power to make this a competitive bout but there isn't much of a skill gap there, less when his opponent has more power and is the more experimented fighter between the two.

I see Stanionis initially being competitive in the starting four rounds, then getting drained by the body shots, gradually being less affective throughout the fight until eventually getting stopped in the 10th round, being overwhelmed like Mean Machine was.

Spence can't stop Mikey Garcia but you are going to put him in with a Mexican with Legit KO power who should be at 154 with Ernnis, LOL. As I said, you don't put a fighter with one foot in the ring and the other in a bar in this type of a fight. And Spence ain't no SRL for those who tried to make that comparison. Happening only in dreams.
C’mon y’all, Spence is punch drunk before the first round bell… he ain’t fighting anyone who can punch.. dude weighing over 180# today and can’t read a Dr Seuss book..

This contradicts the WBA's ruling last year that the priority was to consolidate the WBA title as soon as possible.

we saw similar garbage with Spence pulling out of PAC for a surprising eye injury narrative. They did t want PAC to beat Spence. Ugas, a satisfied defected Cuban would gladly play the role to go light on Spence too.
Interesting. I always thought the WBA really made it easy for Ugas. He only had to fight bum *ss Abel Ramos to fight the superchamp. The WBA even went out their way to strip PAC his superbelt. Whereas Stanionis has to fight Butaev AND Ortiz just to get to fight the superchamp.
I think you just exposed them

Spence vs Ortiz is one purse bid GBP won’t beat PBC. Therefore PBC takes full control of that fight in a Mega Texas showdown. It would be a take it or leave for GBP. And I also feel PBC will offer Ortiz a substantial offer that includes a rematch for Spence should be lose. This showdown makes a lot more sense than risking it with Stanionis. That Romanian doesn’t seem the type to be bribed for a fall.

I wonder if the PBC budget for actual fights is so limited because they spend so much paying off the WBA for rulings like this.

Ugas is with Decubas, who's been in bed with WBA since time immemorial. You think that's a joke? Just spend a few minutes examining his fighters' records, they're full of WBA titles. Lara, Morrell, Ugas, Rigondeaux, etc.

Hmm... I thought this is general knowledge.

Why, it would be his best opponent so far, and if he wins, he would be taken seriously as the next fighter to get a title shot. As of now, the biggest name he's fought is average Kavaliauskas.

Yeah, I know most everybody considers him "Past-Time", he's hardly fought over the last 3 years, "got beat by an over the hill PacMan", hasn't been the same since he beat Danny way back in 2017, he's old now, he get's hurt to the body, etc.

There are a lot of valid arguments to be made for Spence beating him. But, if you think Errol is gonna walk over Keith, you better think again. He'll be a solid underdog and deservedly so, but Keith can FIGHT. Ain't nobody ever beat down Thurman or had an easy night against him. If he didn't get knocked down in the first round by Pacquiao (basically an off-balance knock-down since he was backing up fast) in a round that he had won until that point he'd be 30-0-1 right now.

Yeah, he's about to turn 34, but Bud is 35 and Spence is 32. And Keith has had plenty of time off to heal his various injuries, so he's a fresh 34. Spence had a major car crash and a detached retina. Thurman has been fighting since he was.a kid. He'll be ready.

Don't be surprised if Crawford-Spence doesn't come off for a different reason than everybody thinks: Keith Thurman defeats Errol Spence Jr.
Liked and agreed with everything except Thurman defeats Spence. He will fight his heart out, but he'll be another MAN DOWN!!
