  • Boxing is so dead

The only fights or fighters worth a **** are benvidez vs canelo.

Benevidez vs plant i can get up for

The lighter 135-140 fighters porentially fighting but they wont actually fight

    Spence vs crawford

Welterweight division is dead. 154 dead
all these fighters suck and are not worth watching

To make matters worse, not only is it a talent issue but none of these prima donnas want to fight

    Boxing is dead

Ive been watching a ton of ufc lately and its way better. The best fight the best. End of story. No politics.

They also fight once a year now...fight 1 tomato can a year.

Ive also spenr over 20k in tickets over the last 15 years so anyone not calling me a fan can kick rocks.

It will have its high times again, it always does.

I just heard Gervonta Davis and Jarron Ennis are on the same card in January this is a good start to next year , and we got Charlo Tyzsu so its not so bad.

Its really bad right now...its losing viewership and fan base.

None of these guys fight each other and fight once a year

They need to rework their promotional company bull**** or the sport is dead.

It's been a decent 2022, but it's coming to a close in a very disappointing fashion.

At 154 there's Charlo vs Tszyu which will be good and entertaining. But of course it's not till next year.

COVID didn't help, couple of slow years. This year was disappointing. Not sure how much will change next year if the same fighters and promoters keep circling around one another.

Stop being so melodramatic. Most "super fights" end up being anticlimactic anyway.

I would not call it dead but it has a very very weak pulse. This division-wide inactivity is astounding. This need for fighters today, with 2-day weigh-ins and supposed superior nutrition and sports training needing six to 9 months to recover after a grueling 12-round contest? The cats back in the 70's, 80's and 90's fought three to 4 times per year, 5 times in a few high profile cases.

It's obvious David Benavidez is being avoided.

It's obvious Hearn is locking Anthony Joshua up. Even so, how'd Joshua get the best heavyweight resume dating back to 2015? And what;'s with the yearly appearances? Or is it all tied together?

It's obvious something is up with Ryan Garcia. How does a guy like that move away from legit big opportunities? In favor of what? I used to think he'd wax Tank. Now I'm not sure he'd even sign-up and find a way not to, or ultimately back-out. Has he lost his taste for true gunslinging? Tank has two very good six shooters.

Jaime Mungia. What's the problem? Will we see 50-0 two years from now and still no actual "going for it"? I have an aging buddy who drives a truck looking for some quick bucks...

It's obvious the aging Beterbiev is the unavoidable force at 175. Does he get aged out of the big picture with details, etc?

Ditto with Joe Joyce, a man with a short shelf life, his years aside.

Tyson fury? Why six versions of the man? Why Derek Chisora again, despite the arguable validity of the ranking? His offering Joshua the match after such a grueling close loss reminds me of my having a full yard of junk to unload into a dumpster on a hot, humid day. My best buddy curiously arrived 30min after I'd invested 2 hours into completing the task; trying to come off as willing and heroic all the while in the know on how to time his arrival and NOT helping/doing the work.

The Canelo/GGG rubber match was a GREAT match-up in September 2019. Nuff said.

Crawford/Spence = Bowe/Lewis REDUX. Credit to both men. Neither threw a green belt into a trash can.

Shakur Stevenson. Credit to Shakur. This kid believes in more than one appearance per year.

                Devin Haney. Ditto.

Cruiserweight. Something has to be done. Period.

Promoters, PPV and ******ing platforms, they are the bane of boxing today. Add to that since 2020 I've seen some of THE WORST camera work, fight after fight after fight......on one of those platforms....and I've followed this sport since Thriila.

The modernists like BodyBagz would have you believe that this is due to the standard being so much higher now. I know, it's nonsense.

Relative lack of star power (Canelo isn’t enough) and fighters avoiding each other are the two main reasons boxing is in a doldrums. Even hardcore fans are having a tough time staying interested. Fury had a real chance of raising the sport, but he’s just not motivated enough. A shame.
